]]>Great ideas come from the few, among the many. Yet they are often attributed to others, those best at self-advertising, or best remembered.

Thus any celebrity based system may kill what makes it work, namely the multitude from which (crazy) ideas spring, by underfinancing, and discouraging said multitude. (Exactly as a non equalitarian society discourages, disqualifies and refuses to employ all too many people, indeed, thus killing innovation and economic performance.)

What is “metalogical”? It’s any logic that strictly contains the logic one considered to start with. To any logic are associated metalogics. Metalogical considerations date from Aristotle, and became fruitful in the Twentieth Century (Hilbert, Löwenheim, Gödel, Tarski, etc.)

]]>Most mathematicians don’t even know the difference between first and second order logic (the latter is necessary for standard analysis)… and they tend to get real aggressive when confronted with their abysmal ignorance… My finite approach would wipe out at least 90% of math… And solve zillions of outstanding problems. But I am SURE it’s right… So now I have some sort of amused contempt for my (ex) colleagues… Some have checked their results went through, though…
