European Ultimatum to Sabotaging Britain

The European Union wants Britain out, ASAP. No panic, bear, grin, and carry on. Seventeen million losers and conspirators voted one way, to Trump’s and other racists’ applause. A vote organized by hallucinating losers for other hallucinating losers, has turned as expected. It was organized by Europhobes, supposedly against Europhobia and against other, greater Europhobes, while served red-hot by counterfactual hatred organized by tax evading plutocrats who own all of British media. Thirty years of big lies bore fruit.

Let’s be clear,” said German Chancellor Angela Merkel, “a blow has been struck against European unification“. The European group of all right-wing parties in the European Parliament condemned the British vote.

Great Britain has been sabotaging the “ever closer European Union”, for 43 years. Good riddance. Good riddance? Not so fast said Boris Johnson, the greedy future British PM:”Nothing will change in the short-term,” Boris hammered away. The well-fed Boris came out of his mansion, and was very loudly booed by a throng of Europhiles, while an impressive police curtain protected him.

Meanwhile, as I expected, Cameron delayed his resignation into Fall.

A saboteur sabotages better from inside. A real saboteur, complaining it really hates it there, will want to stay in the bowels of the ship, to keep on sabotaging.

As long as Great Britain stays in, it can sabotage the EU. Out, it may have to beg, and end up like Norway, paying twice as much per capita to the EU government, as Great Britain presently pays. Without Norway having any right to debate the measures taken. I believe that Boris Johnson will strive towards another referendum (just ask the Irish about how that is done).

Oopss. Brexit: Britain Cut In Two. Beware Of Unintended & Intended Consequences

Oopss. Brexit: Britain Cut In Two. Beware Of Unintended & Intended Consequences

Meanwhile Trump landed from a Trump helicopter in Scotland, and declared himself delighted by Brexit, in a way sure to irritate there (Scotland voted 62% to remain in the European Union).

The European Union’s top leaders declared that they want the United Kingdom to leave the union as soon as possible, however painful that process may be”. Moreover there will beno renegotiation.

The presidents of the European council, commission and parliament – Donald Tusk, Jean-Claude Juncker and Martin Schulz respectively – and Mark Rutte, the prime minister of the Netherlands which holds the EU’s rotating presidency, said any further delay to Britain’s exit would “unnecessarily prolong uncertainty”.

After talks in Brussels, the four said they regretted, but respected, Britain’s decision.

This is an unprecedented situation, but we are united in our response,” the European leaders said in a joint statement.

While the UK will remain a member until exit negotiations were concluded, the European leaders expect it to “give effect to this decision … as soon as possible” by triggering article 50 of the Lisbon treaty, which is effectively Britain’s formal letter of resignation (and starts a 24 months count-down).

Everything indicates that the United Kingdom will wait until November to activate Article 50 (the divorce with the EU). Nothing has been decided. Some parts of Great Britain voted 70% to 30% to LEAVE the European Union. Other parts of Great Britain voted 70% to 30% to REMAIN in the European Union.

Moreover, two-third of British Members of Parliament are for staying in the EU.

Verdict? New elections in Great Britain could be coming. However, it was mostly Labor voters voting with UKIP who caused the loss of “Remain”. That will cause the Tories pause.

In the 2000s Ireland, France and the Netherlands voted against the European Union.

What happened?

They voted again. Until Europe got the right answer.

An example is ongoing with Switzerland. In a referendum in 2014, Switzerland voted to reject the “free circulation of European citizens” which Switzerland had signed on, in exchange for 666 “bilaterals” (the treaties with Europe; OK, maybe not exactly 666 of them, but something like that). Bioth Norway and Switzerland belong to Schengen. Great Britain does not. Britain was always half out of the door, sabotaging, thanks in great part to its membership of the European MONETARY Union (EMU). Yes, unbelievably, Europhobic, British Pound clutching Britain, is a member of the EMU. Today.

The European Union started to take retorsion measures against Switzerland the next day (with cancellation of Erasmus effective immediately) and then gave an ultimatum expiring in 2017. Meanwhile the Swiss government did not apply the referendum. Guess what? A new “free circulation” referendum is coming, to abrogate the preceding one. At this point all and any political party in Switzerland will do anything to appease the European Union and turn around the February 9, 2014, referendum. It seems to me likely that this what Boris Johnson will try to do. But he will have a lot of hatred and delusion in the way.

The European leaders declared that the special settlement negotiated by David Cameron earlier this year was void and cannot be renegotiated. Various European leaders talked about the “EU 27”. Cameron will go to an emergency summit in Brussels on Tuesday, one day after France, Italy and Germany meet in Berlin. Merkel and Hollande talked right away.

The xenophobic, Islamophobic, hypernationalistic, Europhobic racist parties all over Europe are rejoicing, and clamoring for referenda. They want power, at the cost of disunion, war, economic or whatnot. Like Boris Johnson, they will do whatever it takes to “lead” us all to oblivion. At least self-described “liberal” American Europhobes (Krugman, etc.) can bathe in self-serving delight. So how come they claim not to love Trump? Don’t ask them, they will get angry. They want to have it all ways. Nothing makes people more angry than forcing their faces in their own contradictions (as Socrates already noticed, and exploited… Until they made him drink poison).

All that comes to mind is that saying that I am fond of using in these times: “Never underestimate the power of unintended consequences”.

Indeed. The consequences may be unintended at the level of those who voted for Brexit. But they are fully intended as far as the plutocratic owners of the British tabloids are. British newspapers are distributed and read at more than four times the rate of France. 13 millions versus only 3 millions. And they are packed with lies. The Guardian, which censors me, and yet is for Remain has a distribution of only 300,000.

The Anglo-American Jewish elite always hated France and Continental Europe, you should think about leaving NATO and creating a Paris-Berlin-Moscow Axis.

There is already a Paris-Berlin axis, and Putin is bathing in glee at this point.
But Brexit did not happen yet. David and Boris will do their best to slow things down… Long term the UK has everything to lose, nothing to gain. They will not be treated as well as Suisse or Norge… The problem at this point is Italy.

I wonder how Jews came to the story? And even more which Jews you mean? Those from Thessaloniki who were murdered, or those from Bialystok who were annihilated too. As to me, the European problems were caused by Greek Plutocracy, who for years parasited on the Euro system, while paying bakshish to the Greek people, then withdraw their hands from responsibilities, leaving the common Greeks in their agony. Now as Greece has become unwillingly the bridge to Europe for the foods of emigrants, its time they respond to the situation with brains and not with muscles.

It’s true that, around two centuries ago, the Rotte (Red) Shield family happened to be Jewish. Although the Rothschilds boasted they controlled the British state, among others, and fed warriors, if not wars, their Jewishness was not an argument (Zionism appeared only a century later, after massive persecution of the Jews in Germany in the Second Reich). President Jackson hated the Rothschild (but it as all about central banking, not religion).
Intellectual fascists are all about the fewer ideas they can obsess with. As Jews originated both Xtianity and Islam, they are rich targets…

I was trying to affect an ironical, cool, British like sense of humor. Sorry if I failed. Farage’s discourse, in content and manner, was strikingly Hitler-like. He even said that:”We achieved this without firing a bullet”… exactly a week after MP Jo Cox got three bullets drilled into her, by an anti-European fanatic owner of a cherished Hitler manuscript…

Hear, Nature, hear, dear goddess, hear!
Suspend thy purpose if thou didst intend
    To make this creature fruitful.
    Into her womb convey sterility.
Dry up in her the organs of increase,
And from her derogate body never spring
A babe to honor her! If she must teem,
Create her child of spleen, that it may live
And be a thwart disnatured torment to her.
Let it stamp wrinkles in her brow of youth,
With cadent tears fret channels in her cheeks,
Turn all her mother’s pains and benefits
To laughter and contempt, that she may feel
How sharper than a serpent’s tooth it is
To have a thankless child!—Away, away!

You mention the Erasmus retorsion again Switzerland.

The EU should resist the temptation to do the same with the UK, despite the ease of such a move.

On the contrary, it should make a point, loud, clear and, above all, not waiting to be asked, to keep extending Erasmus to young Britons.

Young Britons voted overwhelmingly for Remain. Many of them now openly express anger at the stupidity of their elders, the clueless baby-boomers who “killed their future”. Keeping them aboard the EU ideal is a priority policy; they’ll vote for far longer than their debile elders. (They also resent the fact that, contrary to the Scottish referendum, 16-17 yrs old were denied the vote… so telling).

Generally speaking, the demographics of the vote happen to be clear, and distressing to the Tory old fogies: Scotland, Northern Ireland and the young massively opposed the Brexit madness. In its response, the EU must differentiate between Little England and its friends, and visibly, forcefully extend privileged treatment to the latter, regardless of Westminster’s certain whines and legal recourses. The (EU) law will follow, as it must. So will the funding. The UK law is irrelevant. This is a war situation, as predicted; jaw, jaw is over; so, attack.

That is sound politics and fair justice, which is often the same.

Agreed that would be smart. To keep on Erasmus going. At this point, it’s moot: UK is in the EU. However, first, BREXIT will not work. The day UK is out of formal EU, Erasmus should be cut. Everything should be cut. L’argent est le nerf de la guerre. No pity. The financial conspiracy known as Global Plutocracy is headquartered in NYC and London, and has stuck us with the bills. The lying propaganda has insited that Britain gave more to the EU than it got. Let it be demonstrated.

I agree about the divide and rule strategy, though. But then one does not want to make it too comfortable either. It’s all very mysterious. We will see what Boris Johnson does. He is way smarter than Cameron. OK, an easy comparison…

    Hi Patrice –

Lots of name-calling here. Why should Britain’s desire for self-determination cause such anger?

The EU was always going to fail, with or without UK. A monetary union without fiscal union is another one of the bankers’ shell games. Rates “converged” because of the “stability” of having the ECB, and the South loaded up on cheap debt, and then blew up as everyone knew they would, a couple of decades later. Who does the central bank (IMF, etc.) stand behind? The creditors!

Europe is not a nation. It is clearly not ready to become one either, or fiscal unification would be a done deal.

EU was always a sucker’s game for the South. Now the Germans and the hedge funds get to buy their state assets for cheap, sending the populations of these countries into feudal serfdom for generations to come (if they stay–at least they can leave).

England never took the bait and will avoid the self-destruction that Brussels will wreak upon the parts of Europe it has not already destroyed. The youth in Europe have taken the brunt of the hit.

You don’t have to be a racist to not want what has happened to Germany and Sweden, etc. Huge immigration lowers wages and hurts the bottom half especially, and may overtax support systems. And other problems.

Fundamentally, Brexit and Trump represent a rejection of globalism (and in Trump’s case, of useless hegemonic foreign wars), but the powers that be will try to make the motives of anyone backing such rejection base and reprehensible. I would expect better from you.

Also, years of complexity theory research should have taught us that more local forms of self-organization are more robust than top-down planning, which basically has never worked. And this is what both Troika and Fed are trying to do.

Just sayin’. Don’t be a hater. Tends to come back at you. Reprisal will only hurt Europe.

I believe with others that we are going through a period of revolutionary change. The world will look very different in ten years.

    cheers,
    benign

As Gmax said, you should read my Saturday 25 June Brexit essay. The “name calling” is entirely justified on some particular individuals. Brexit has been an ocean of lies. But that’s fine. The UK was blocking the EU. So let’s do away with the UK.

It’s not globalism that is rejected, only some unsustainable aspects of it. Personally, I am no hater on the Brexit question. One reason being that “Brexit” will NOT happen. Yet enough of it may happene to enable real progress.
Being a hater can be an excellent thing. I recommend it with Nazis (there used to be Nazis commenting on this site, but they seem to be mostly exhausted by now…) Some level of hatred by Brexiteer was equal or superior to that of full blown Nazis, as I have shown.
