Trump Attacks Establishment

At least with his lips… Media Plutocracy Outraged

Once upon a time in Oahu, president-elect Obama, standing a foot away, invited me to a family event. What happened next I will reveal fully in the far future.  Let me put it succinctly: other actors surprised us with a vicious little plot to turn the invitation into a deep trauma for all involved. Such is the pull of power lust. Such is the greed of the establishment. I thought I had seen everything before, still I was astounded, completely unprepared. Eight years later I am still baffled. (Several divorces came out of it, BTW.)

Chris Hedges, long a star, Pulitzer winning, journalist at the New York Times points out in his latest book, that the Pulitzer is completely rigged by the New York Times itself (by financing the advisor, the Columbia School of Journalism). Wikipedia crows that the “NYT won 117 Pulitzer prizes more than any news organization”. This self-reinforcing glorification is typical of the way the establishment works: by rigging carefully the entire system (the Sulzberger family controlling the Times since 1896; recently government connected Mexican tycoon Carlos Slims became top shareholder, excluding him from NYT criticism; Sulzberger, Cohen and other plutocrats maintain control of the Class B shares, which have full voting power; the Mexican peon, a crony capitalist from Mexico, who bought Mexican Telecom on the cheap, thanks to his friends in government, is restricted to Class A shares, enabling New York plutocrats to keep control).

In other words, those who breathe New York Times, breathe plutocracy, and no wonder I am banned from it. The Deepest State is made by these plutocrats. Unfortunately for them, one of their own has gone to the other side.

Raised Fist, Big Red Flag of a Tie: Lenin Is Back, But Through An Election This Time!

Open Jacket, Raised Fist, Big Red Flag of a Tie: It Looks As If Lenin Is Back, But Through An Election This Time!

Trump was born and raised in the (financial core of the) establishment: first on the periphery, then at its heart, for decades (he admitted this himself explicitly). More than a year ago, he presented himself as a demolisher of said establishment. That was fully confirmed by his inaugural speech.

Haters for hire will howl, according to their nature. However history is full of rebellious plutocrats which turned against the plutocracy they came from. One could even say that this is the most frequent mechanism for real change.

Cleisthenes, the top Athenian plutocrat, from the top family, the Alcmaeonid, plotted extensively against the Athenian tyranny, got Sparta to invade, twice, and finally took power, just to feel that there was no alternative, but total democracy. And then he installed democracy, a democracy so total that tiny Athens became one of the greatest contributor to civilization, ever. (Cleisthenes called his reforms isonomia, “equality vis à vis law”, iso-=equality; nomos=law… not demokratia…)

Here is the entire transcript below of Trump’s inaugural speech, with key portions pointed out in various ways: all caps, highlighted and commented.

TRUMP: Chief Justice Roberts, President Carter, President Clinton, President Bush, President Obama, fellow Americans and PEOPLE OF THE WORLD, thank you.

[Patrice comment: notice Trump did not forget We the People of the WORLD! So much for his alleged xenophobia… which could not resist Melania’s thick Germanoid accent…]

Original Internationale: Lenin Grabbed the French “l’Internationale” and made it the USSR’s anthem.

Original Internationale: Lenin Grabbed the French “l’Internationale” and made it the USSR’s anthem.

(APPLAUSE) Trump: “We, the citizens of America, are now joined in a great national effort to rebuild our country and restore its promise for all of our people. (APPLAUSE)

Together, we will determine the course of America and the WORLD for many, many years to come. We will face challenges, we will confront hardships, but we will get the job done.

Every four years, we gather on these steps to carry out the orderly and peaceful transfer of power, and we are grateful to President Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama for their gracious aid throughout this transition. They have been magnificent. Thank you. (APPLAUSE)

[Patrice: So much for Trump being a racist pig, as the haters have contended; Hitler did not find “blacks” extra magnificent; Hitler did not salute “blacks”.]

TRUMP: “Today’s ceremony, however, has very special meaning because today, we are not merely transferring power from one administration to another or from one party to another, but we are transferring power from Washington, D.C. and giving it back to you, the people. (APPLAUSE)

For too long, A SMALL GROUP IN OUR NATION’S CAPITAL HAS REAPED THE REWARDS OF GOVERNMENT WHILE THE PEOPLE HAVE BORNE THE COST. WASHINGTON FLOURISHED, BUT THE PEOPLE DID NOT SHARE IN ITS WEALTH. POLITICIANS PROSPERED, BUT THE JOBS LEFT AND THE FACTORIES CLOSED. The establishment protected itself, but not the citizens of our country. Their victories have not been your victories. Their triumphs have not been your triumphs. And while they celebrated in our nation’s capital, there was little to celebrate for struggling families all across our land. (APPLAUSE)

[Patrice: This is the “populist” point of view. “We The People”. DEMOS-KRATOS = PEOPLE-POWER. Power to People. The first (and nearly last) democracy, for real (among males) was Athens. Athens’ democracy was a gigantic success in nearly all ways, including driving Athens completely crazy. As a result, Athens’ democracy ultimately failed, and “democracy” became a dirty word for more than two millennia. A similar evolution affected Rome, yet, in slower motion. It is striking that “populist” is viewed as an insult by most Main Stream Media. It is astounding that the clueless little people do not realize that, when they vilify “populism”, they vilify themselves; US “celebrities”, who are paid outrageous amounts of money and power, are besides themselves as the fat rats they are, deep in the establishment cheese.]

Trump again:“That all changes starting right here and right now because this moment is your moment, it belongs to you. (APPLAUSE). It belongs to everyone gathered here today and everyone watching all across America. This is your day. This is your celebration. And this, the United States of America, is your country.” (APPLAUSE)

What truly matters is not which party controls our government, but whether OUR GOVERNMENT IS CONTROLLED BY THE PEOPLE. (APPLAUSE)

[Patrice comment: This is in total contradiction of the “small government” theme of the traditional conservatives. In other words, Trump, long a registered Democrat and a supporter of the Democratic Party with millions of dollars (up to 2010!), is still, well, if not a Democrat, certainly a democrat!]

Trump: “January 20th, 2017 will be remembered as the day the PEOPLE BECAME THE RULERS of this nation again.(APPLAUSE) The forgotten men and women of our country will be forgotten no longer. (APPLAUSE) Everyone is listening to you now. You came by the tens of millions to become part of a historic movement, the likes of which the world has never seen before. (APPLAUSE)

At the center of this movement is a crucial conviction, that a nation exists to serve its citizens. Americans want great schools for their children, safe neighborhoods for their families, and good jobs for themselves. These are just and reasonable demands of righteous people and a righteous public.

But for too many of our citizens, a different reality exists: mothers and children trapped in poverty in our inner cities; rusted out factories scattered like tombstones across the landscape of our nation; an education system flush with cash, but which leaves our young and beautiful students deprived of all knowledge; and the crime and the gangs and the drugs that have stolen too many lives and robbed our country of so much unrealized potential.

THIS AMERICAN CARNAGE STOPS RIGHT HERE AND STOPS RIGHT NOW. (APPLAUSE) We are one nation and their pain is our pain. Their dreams are our dreams. And their success will be our success. We share one heart, one home, and one glorious destiny. The oath of office I take today is an oath of allegiance to all Americans.(APPLAUSE)

[Comment: Trump has dreams, we all have dreams, like Martin Luther King had a dream…]

Trump: “For many decades, we’ve enriched foreign industry at the expense of American industry; subsidized the armies of other countries, while allowing for the very sad depletion of our military. We’ve defended other nations’ borders while refusing to defend our own.(APPLAUSE)

And spent trillions and trillions of dollars overseas while America’s infrastructure has fallen into disrepair and decay. We’ve made other countries rich, while the wealth, strength and confidence of our country has dissipated over the horizon.

One by one, the factories shuttered and left our shores, with not even a thought about the millions and millions of American workers that were left behind. The wealth of our middle class has been ripped from their homes and then redistributed all across the world.

But that is the past. And now, we are looking only to the future. (APPLAUSE)

We assembled here today are issuing a new decree to be heard in every city, in every foreign capital, and in every hall of power. From this day forward, a new vision will govern our land. From this day forward, it’s going to be only America first, America first. (APPLAUSE)

[Patrice comment: what happened to plutocracy first? No wonder the news organizations, all of which are owned, or, if not outright owned, controlled by plutocrats

Trump: “Every decision on trade, on taxes, on immigration, on foreign affairs will be made to benefit American workers and American families. We must protect our borders from the ravages of other countries making our products, stealing our companies and destroying our jobs.” (APPLAUSE)

Protection will lead to great prosperity and strength. I will fight for you with every breath in my body and I will never ever let you down. (APPLAUSE) America will start winning again, winning like never before.(APPLAUSE)

We will bring back our jobs. We will bring back our borders. We will bring back our wealth. And we will bring back our dreams. (APPLAUSE)

We will build new roads and highways and bridges and airports and tunnels and railways all across our wonderful nation. We will get our people off of welfare and back to work, rebuilding our country with American hands and American labor. (APPLAUSE)

[This is a BIG GOVERNMENT program, in complete contradiction to anything done since Presidents Kennedy and Johnson. Trump is asking for one trillion dollars, right away, for that infrastructure program.]

Trump: “We will follow two simple rules; buy American and hire American. (APPLAUSE)

We will seek friendship and goodwill with the nations of the world, but we do so with the understanding that it is the right of all nations to put their own interests first. We do not seek to impose our way of life on anyone, but rather to let it shine as an example. We will shine for everyone to follow. (APPLAUSE)

We will reinforce old alliances and form new ones and UNITE THE CIVILIZED WORLD AGAINST RADICAL ISLAMIC TERRORISM, WHICH WE WILL ERADICATE FROM THE FACE OF THE EARTH. (APPLAUSE)

At the bedrock of our politics will be a total allegiance to the United States of America, and through our loyalty to our country, we will rediscover our loyalty to each other. WHEN YOU OPEN YOUR HEART TO PATRIOTISM, THERE IS NO ROOM FOR PREJUDICE(APPLAUSE)

The Bible tells us how good and pleasant it is when God’s people live together in unity. We must speak our minds openly, debate our disagreements honestly, but always pursue solidarity. When America is united, America is totally unstoppable. (APPLAUSE) There should be no fear. We are protected and we will always be protected. We will be protected by the great men and women of our military and law enforcement. And most importantly, we will be protected by God. (APPLAUSE) Finally, we must think big and dream even bigger. In America, we understand that a nation is only living as long as it is striving. We will no longer accept politicians who are all talk and no action, constantly complaining, but never doing anything about it. (APPLAUSE) The time for empty talk is over. Now arrives the hour of action. (APPLAUSE)

Do not allow anyone to tell you that it cannot be done. No challenge can match the heart and fight and spirit of America. We will not fail. Our country will thrive and prosper again.

We stand at the birth of a new millennium, ready to UNLOCK THE MYSTERIES OF SPACE, TO FREE THE EARTH FROM THE MISERIES OF DISEASE, AND TO HARNESS THE ENERGIES, INDUSTRIES AND TECHNOLOGIES OF TOMORROW. A new national pride will stir ourselves, lift our sights and heal our divisions.

[Patrice: Advancing science and technology is the way out. Right now, it takes 50 million dollars and ten years for a potential new drug to go through the government review process. That’s 20 times too much, As a result of the present situation, there are fewer and fewer new drugs. Miracle new drugs, already demonstrated, are completely blocked. Hey, Obama, Michelle and their friends are young and healthy: why should have they cared?]

Trump: “It’s time to remember that old wisdom our soldiers will never forget, that whether we are black or brown or white, we all bleed the same red blood of patriots. (APPLAUSE)

{Patrice comment: I have been called a “racist troll” publicly, for a readership of thousands, by the vile haters out there. Are those from the same mindset which called Trump a racist? But is not racist the one who calls “racist” who is not racist?]

Trump: “We all enjoy the same glorious freedoms and we all salute the same great American flag. (APPLAUSE) And whether a child is born in the urban sprawl of Detroit or the wind-swept plains of Nebraska, they look up at the same night sky, they will their heart with the same dreams, and they are infused with the breath of life by the same almighty creator.(APPLAUSE)

So to all Americans in every city near and far, small and large, from mountain to mountain, from ocean to ocean, hear these words: You will never be ignored again.

(APPLAUSE) Your voice, your hopes, and your dreams will define our American destiny. And your courage and goodness and love will forever guide us along the way.

Together, we will make America strong again. We will make America wealthy again. We will make America proud again. We will make America safe again. And yes, together we will make America great again. (APPLAUSE) Thank you. God bless you. And God bless America.

***

All right, I don’t like the God stuff, which reminds me all too much of Obama’s cynical down speaking to the masses. Why could not the secular Trump say:’”bless you. And bless America?” But for the rest, well, I love the combative attack against the establishment.

Obama left for a weekend in Palm Springs, to visit with some of his plutocrat friends whom he made ambassadors. Obama travelled in style, with Air Force One, the giant 747 jumbo jet specially modified by Boeing. As Obama was not president anymore, the plane had a different code name. Operating that jet made to carry 450, costs more than $200,000 an hour. Palm Springs is surrounded by colossal, and magnificent mountains towering nearly two miles higher, some of them covered with forests, lower ones with high altitude desert. The San Andrea fault strikes a straight, highly visible, tumultuous line along the valley. It is one of Earth’s most spectacular places. Yet, it was raining on Obama’s parade. The mighty jet went into a holding pattern, for half an hour. It then had to land one hundred kilometers away. A lesson: Earth is indifferent to human self-importance. That monopolizing a jumbo jet just for himself was Obama’s first post-presidential gesture tells volumes which no philosopher should like.

Over three Christmas, the Hawaiian Obama vacation cost 15 million dollars, in transportation costs, alone. But who is counting? Giant monopolies protected by the globalocracy owe trillions in taxes to We The People, and small businesses. None of the loud mouths of the establishment care (they established it that way).

We are living in the times of the greatest perils, and the greatest potential. And whenever the establishment is in the way, of vital progress we need to make to survive, it should be disintegrated.

And it’s not just empty words: for example the desert, next to Obama’s Palm Springs, can generate colossal amounts of energy (wind, photovoltaics). But then the energy has to be transported. Direct Current High Voltage line is the way to do that. They have to be constructed, at great cost. A big government task. China is doing it (the Changji-Guquan link under construction will carry half the generating power of Spain, and is charged at more than one million volts). But then China has its own space station, which neither Europe nor the US has (the ISS, is not called the International Space Station for no reason, and it’s a great thing… yet it’s symptomatic that Europe and the US think they can’t afford space, let alone science: a 100 meter telescope should be under construction right now; it would (re)solve not just exoplanets, but maybe Quantum Physics; it’s technically feasible, and not that expensive, compared to an hour of Obama).

Thinking, thinking deep, thinking deeper is hard, harder. Nobody protested eight years ago. My despair was not shared, when I saw all the plutocrats and their sycophants making a wall around Obama, sucking even his air, and any single thought. What was going on was clear. How come was I the only one to see it? Much of it was public knowledge, where were the protesters? They could, they should, have helped.

The political establishment had to play the game, and nearly all of it was at Trump’s inauguration, including Clinton. The one notable exception was John Kerry, and it’s not because he is bilingual in French. It is because he is the richest politician in the US (short of Trump!) Kerry had to choose between country and class. He chose the plutocracy.

Thinking creatively, or just correctly, is difficult.

Enough with the insults, lazy little critters, off to work. And work, first of all, requires deep thinking, not “just saying”.

    Wow! Wow! And more Wows!

Just read your latest post, as in this post, out aloud to Jeannie. When I had finished Jean said: “Interesting. Very interesting!”

I would add one word: “Incredibly interesting!”

President Trump will be unlike any other US President in modern times. But then the very last thing the USA, indeed the whole of civilization, needs right now is more of the same.

OK! That was my big, bold reaction to your post! 🙂 Here are two questions of detail.

    1. Is Donald Trump really a secularist?

    2. Is within his phrase about harnessing the new technologies the key to the US leading the transition to a sustainable way of life vis-a-vis climate change? For many, including me, are worried that Trump and his Cabinet do not seem to acknowledging the terrible risk of a runaway rise in the temperature of our home: Planet Earth?

Thanks to you, Paul and Jeannie! I feel encouraged. People around Trump says he is a secularist. This said, his son in law is an “observant Jew”. I guess that enables him to be a major capitalist, a mini-Trump, while claiming he is morally supeior. Also Ivanka converted to Judaism. Whatever that means (meaning will vary depending how much of an orthodox you are). Trump’s Bible was given by his mom… He used it in combination with the traditional one for the ceremony, both lifted by Melania, who demonstrated to the world her biceps are in no way inferior to Michelle’s…

The would-be FDA adminstrator was asked point blank under oath by a senator “whether he believed global warming was a hoax”. He said no, it’s not a hoax. He actually has believed in it for years, pointing out there were good side effects (the GPP)… Whatever. Obama did very little, outside of his lips. Doing something will require MASSIVE infrastructure spending, something which the preceding mood forbade.

So we will see. If the Congress blocks the trillion dollars Trump intents to spend on infrastructure, Trump could still install a carbon tax… (His would-be Sec of State is pro-carbon tax.)

Thank you. I would like to share a small private moment I had when Jean and I were watching the inauguration live courtesy the BBC News website live broadcast.

I turned to Jean and said that for the first time since becoming a resident in 2010 it felt like a pivotal point in the government of MY country. “MY” being the key word.

(Of course, you do realise that some part of that awakening is your fault! 😉 )

Thanks Paul, keep on with the compliments, I love it! It’s a pivotal moment in world history, in the sense that globalocracy, the way it’s done, has to be changed! It’s a necessay (not sufficient!) condition to save the biosphere as we know it. All indications are of dramatic, non human controlled, changes ahead.

Next to my home, half a dozen giant trees collapsed, over the weekend, due to weak soil, from the rains. It’s spectacular, and I could use it for an essay…

All the climate change fighting, Obama style was just words. Arguably fossil-fuels Rick Perry of Texas, that pleasant bimbo, did more for climate than Obama did… We need massive investments… And first, a CARBON TAX… Worldwide. Meanwhile, the French can’t breathe, from fine particle pollution on 2/3 of France, due to exceptionally cold weather (this polar vortex wandering…)

Vos derniers textes sur Trump ont été intéressants et “thoughts-provoking”, comme on dit dans la langue de Benny Hill, pas de doute.
Pour le moment, je reste fermement agnostique concernant le nouveau président (régime?) US.

Prudence donc.

Why then has Trump offered up so many plutocrats for cabinet positions? The rhetoric may give some inkling of a positive change but the nominees generally reek of plutocratic privilege. No Bernie Sanders types in the bunch or anyone who may be considered a “progressive”, anti-corporate or anti-Wall Street.

Employing plutocrats, and six who went through Goldman Sachs, is not, per se, an indicator of policy. When Obama “decided” to use Larry Summers as main economic adviser/Sec. of Treasury that was completely different: Summers and his girlfriend Sheryl Sandberg had an extensive track record in GOVERNMENT, fostering hummongously gigantic “deregulation”, de-FDRization, and general infamy.

NONE of the Plutos Trump is promoting have a government track record. The Sec of State has met with Putin, but has only a wealth a fraction of Pelosi’s… Yet, differently from rambuctious Nancy, he is for a CARBON tax (which is necessary).

Today the USA formally withdrew from the TPP, an action unions applauded, and globalocrats hated. Action, not posing. Obama’s “action” was all cult.

Ashes indeed. My guess is that Trump, because he is extremely vainglorious and a big time builder, will do much more for the environment. For example, we need a Direct Current line between Washington State and California (to drain excess hydro current in Spring, and someday, the other way from sun power…)

          Never heard of Corbett report…

The fact that the Trump administration is said to be “inexperienced” is telling.

Anyway, I was reading 2 pages of Chris Hedges straight out of what I said for years. Why is it so difficult to see that Clinton and company were more right wing than Reagan, who was more right wing than Jimmy Carter, friend of the torturer in chief of Iran, and secret attacker of Afghanistan?

Why is it, that one has to reveal that Clinton and company were right wing fascists of the worst sustainable type, and it’s so hard, nobody believes it among the PC?

We spent month trying to get guys out of life imprisonment for doing less than Obama personally ever did. Grace was persistently refused by DOJ, at least for two, until Barry relented, a day before grabbing the 747 for Palm Springs. But he gave 240 months for a (black) guy who he knows very well did much less than he did… I guess it’s better than the life term Clinton condemned him to… With his New Jim Crowe laws…

During all that time, some of my PC “friends”, some in New York media, some pseudo-intellectual French, drenched me with racist insults… When actually all they are is fat rats eating cheese. Of course they are not my friends anymore… BTW, notice that BO was nice to me, after all I said… Bcs he knows it’s the truth…

Chris Hedges tells it like it is. No one gets a free pass with him. No doubt Clinton wrecked the place with banking, NAFTA, policing/prisons and welfare “reform”. I see we are starting to agree… 😉 The last 8 years were real hard for me. In a way, Obama told me last week that we could have got away with anything. And the Trump White House is demonstrating it. However, 8 years ago, the Democratic machine from the Clintons was immensely powerful.

Had I to redo the last nine years, I would have done as Obama showed last week: damn the torpedoes, go the WH, negotiate later. (Instead I stayed in a sort of philosophy castle!) This is exactly what the people closest to Trump are doing now: Trump had the guts to move them in the WH.

Yet, it’s also true that the formidable Clinton/Goldman Sachs/ Harvard/Deep State machine is considerably weaker, after years of scathing attacks from Occupy Wall Street/Sanders, etc. And the likes of Chris Hedges, and, more modestly, fame-wise, yours truly…

Trump seems to pick up a lot of apparently useless fights on ridiculous issues… So nobody could concentrate on defending and eulogizing the astounding merits of the defunct TPP, hahaha (that keeps propagandists of globalocracy like Paul Krugman off balance, as they fall into the traps)…

This is a brilliant assessment, Patrice. Trump will never give speeches with the soaring (and hollow and affected) rhetoric of Obama, but he offers the hope and change promised to the country in 2008 – and denied to them in the ensuing eight years.

Trump will disappoint us both. He’ll be forced to compromise at times, we’ll want more from him than is politically feasible and sometimes our views simply won’t align with us. But for so many reasons that you touched upon – Obamacare, infrastructure investment, etc – we finally have red-blooded, red-toothed, red-clawed opposition to plutocracy. The death of TPP alone justifies his November victory.

And yet legions of pseudo-liberal lemmings continue to froth at the mouth. Scratch one, and you’ll find a totalitarian. Ironically, it’s now those calling themselves the left who are backing plutocracy and opposing populism. So steeped in emotion and hostile to reason is their opposition to Trump, I do not know how he can tip the scales in his favor, other than remaining focused on the plight of the middle and working classes, and awakening those forgotten Americans who never show up to vote. Give them good school for their kids, a well-paying job, a safe community and the dignity the coastal elite (that’s you and me) regularly deny them, and a sleeping giant will be awakened.

The propaganda against him will be relentless. No opportunity will be missed. The messaging will be unified and polished, a mass brainwashing exercise that would make the Soviet Union blush. Look how even his inauguration was used to discredit him: plutocratic media compared photos of the 2016 and 2008 masses, but photos taken at very different times to give the impression of disinterest and disrespect of Trump.

The state performs the law of the people. The law reflects the will of the people. The economy exists to serve the people. Let this be his mantra.

And let him paint for the country an accurate portrait of the pseudo-left: a movement in favor of ‘crony capitalism, militarism, interventionism, hypercentralization, Monsanto-ism, globalism sponsored by large corporations, scientism, Salafascism, anti-localism, Islamic anti-feminism and anti-free speech.’ (Hat tip to Nassim Nicholas Taleb.)

While I regularly chastised Hillary Clinton publicly, I kept my support for Trump to myself – and I still do. The temperament of California pseudo-liberalism forces anyone with heterodox opinions into the closet or into exile. Do you find the same is true in the Bay Area as down here in LA?

Dear Oat Meal Activist (I love oats too!): I have found a new use for Trump: getting rid of false friends! Hahaha… This said, I giot threats of computer attacks from “friends” (who do this for a living), and sure enough, Google informed me of sustained attempts to break into my system… Today. I could call Obama all sorts of names, but also meet with him without the SS around… Nostalgia…

No really, when people who should know better (they know my family multi-racial, multi-contineantal, tight with Obama) call me in public and to newspapers editors, a “racist troll”, it’s purely astounding. This degree of mental corruption is enough to justify some cleansing from Trump.

Most people I have met face to face nearly pee in their pants when they talk to me, because they know I know much more, so they change their music quickly. The problem is more with the likes of MSM “friends” who are working now in New York…

Some CEOs who get everything done in China are incredulous when I tell them they will have to bring back their assembly jobs to California. But they have no interest to keep on the way they are organized now. My plan is the 35% carbon tax. BTW, they are often violating national security considerations…

Trump: a litmus test for free thinkers and true liberals! I do notice the alarming regularity they use the term ‘racist’ as a slur to denigrate any perceived enemy. Yet I would suggest that nothing is more racist than pseudo-liberal identity politics, which reduce people to the color of their skin and racial identity, and then treat them differently accordingly.

I approve your carbon tax plan. You may not share this view, but I’d offer corporations a deal: I would eliminate conventional corporate income tax, institute a steep carbon tax, a banking tax and higher taxes on the wealthy. Corporate taxes end up as a regressive tax on consumers, but a carbon tax discourages fossil fuel use and a banking tax discourages the financialization of the economy.

And yes – unions in the Oval Office! Imagine, a president actually fighting for the American worker? For better wages, for a resurgence of manufacturing. America will build again! (And no, I don’t think unions are the answer to every problem, but I also don’t think they’re an evil. Their benefit is conditional and their formation should entirely be dependent upon their associated workers.)

To my point about Trump disappointing us… a more esoteric reading of his presidency is that he’s staging a full-scale political revolution which will transform the Republican Party beyond recognition. What we regard as political setbacks are the costs of this progress and are acceptable, as long as they accompanied with real gains elsewhere. I am choosing to remain focused on Trump’s long game – and indeed the deep future of the country.

This feels like one of those rare moments in history where we face two paths: will we recover our republic under Trump or become an empire under the plutocrats?

        Keep writing. Keep fighting.

We agree with the identity politics. My spouse got infuriated in the last 2 weeks when our daughter was indoctrinated in the racial identity propaganda of California. The poor child started to ponder what was the color of her dolls!

Rule number one of politeness among the true Africans;: never mention a person’s color, except if one wants to insult said person (in Cameroon, to gravely insult whites, one calls them “skinned pigs”; pigs are black in Africa…)

Those purpoted anti-racists are just racists, as I pointed out in:

          “Anti-Racist Racism” Is Still Racism

Some editors and other professional pseudo=progressives, all the way to Texas got alarmed, and Francois Luong, a commenter here, reassured them by telling them: “Please don’t pay attention, Patrice is a racist troll.”… And worse…

My accusation against Aime’ Cesaire, a pseudo-African who probably never went to Africa, is as grave as it gets: Cesaire’s racism became a banner of “progress” and “decolonization” in 1931… TWO years before the Nazis got to power, with a similar color based inspiration. First thing Nazis did was to sterilize at least 500 (some say thousands) of “Rhineland bastards” (children of “colored” French soldiers).
          https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Persecution_of_black_people_in_Nazi_Germany

In any case, one can view Nazism as tit for tat of Cesaire’s racism, so one should make him a honorary Aryan! Or even Nazi, why not?

Apple paid 1% corporate tax forever, Amazon, 0%, Google and Facebook have avoided taxes completely, but then they went to meet with heads of states in their offices (probably to propose them jobs…) These are the largest companies, PRECISELY because they violated antitrust and tax laws, WORLDWIDE.

So I am for reducing the corporate tax rate too.
So are the French Socialists in power. Yes SOCIALISTS:
Among the provisions that would affect the taxation of French companies are the following proposals:

          A progressive reduction of the corporate income tax rate: The standard corporate income tax rate (currently 33.33%) would be decreased to 28%. The new rate would be implemented progressively: (1) for financial years opened as from 1 January 2017, the 28% new rate would apply to the portion of the profits of small and medium enterprises up to €75,000;

The right will win the next French elections, in 4 months. It will accelerate the decrease of tax rates, urgently needed in France. The problem is very similar to the USA. Taxation of French companies since 1980 has oscillated between 33.33% and 50% (!!!!). Significant companies were taxed up to last year 41%… No wonder they all go China…

Of course they all go to China… where they are manufactured in Chinese factories, spewing thick billows of toxic black smoke into the atmosphere, only possible because of lax Chinese environmental laws and corrupt enforcement of what laws do exist.

Fillion will win the election you think? No surge from Le Pen?

One last thing (for now)… I wish were shocked about your daughter, but I am not. It is state-sponsored brainwashing, and it’s been going on for years. We will have generations of zealots, who never received a real education. And we will have growing hostility towards education as an institution, as so many already find it repellant when they see schools and colleges focused on identity politics and safe spaces and pornography weeks, etc.

From isotopic analysis, it has been possible to prove most of the pollution (indirectly) killing frogs in the Sierra nevada of California comes from China.

Fillon was crafty: he occupied Le Pen’s territory by proclaiming himself a Catholic (no French politician did this except for wackos in at least 120 years…) Now, OK, lots of ex-Commies voters vote Le Pen (same situation as with Trump, same fundamental reasons, although a much decorated British idiot from the establishment, in The Economist proclaimed last week it was because of racism (same as Trump, he added)… But Fillon could seduce them. He used to race cars professionally….

Fillon proposes some radical reforms France needs (but they are not sufficient…)

It has become clear that the president believes and claims that up to 5 million illegal immigrants voted in last November’s election. This has been shown repeatedly to be a false belief and a lie. How can you continue to say that a man who does not grasp such basic facts is going to be an effective leader of the USA.

Your continuing to support Trump given all he has said and done makes a mockery of all that I know about your philosophy and your work.

This is true even if a miracle occurs and Trump proves to be an anti-plutocrat. Deranged.

Dear Alexi: Whatever you say about whatever you think Trump believes. I heard his spokesperson Sean Spicer, this afternoon, that’s not what Spicer said.

Let me inform you that I do not support Trump. Your belief about what I do in that matter is erroneous. I communicated personally last week with president Obama, not Trump (to get some lifers out). I don’t know Trump, and, whereas I spent years campaigning for Obama, I have never campaigned for Trump.

Philosophy at the edge, today, is the most complicated thing.

Any statement, at some point, can be misinterpreted into something else not intended.

I support Truth, not Trump. It is true that Truth was decidedly an enemy of the Clintons. They incarcerated literally millions of black Americans on fake charges. I was in the thick of it in the last few months, and we appealed directly to Obama, over the DOJ, using friendship, which some at the WH around Obama found “inappropriate” (as one of them put it). The F with them.

My mistake was not to get an official job at the WH 8 years ago.

Thanks for finding this very interesting interview, SDM! It is pretty telling that one has to go to Russian TV to listen to Chris Hedges!!

I like the first 3 minutes, and stuff here and there… However, I am into the deepest analysis.

Hedges starts from the principle that it is going to be “naked plutocracy” from now on. Whatever. History shows plenty of turn-coats plutocrats. Trump destroyed the TPP, showed Union Leaders the Oval Office… It looks that Trump *may” be able to bring *back* millions of jobs. We will see. The doomed and damnable socialists in France have already lowered the corporate tax from 33.33% down to 28% (the right will do more, if French judges let it happen).

That Trump uses people from the establishment.

      There is the DEEP STATE…
      And the DEEPEST STATE…

Trump is not as dumb as Hedges, and others believe. That’s why he put three top generals in its administration from the get-go. Including Mattis, the real boss of the Pentagon (he had retired from the top job 3 years ago). At that point, he had put the army on his side, F the deep state, and the deepest state…

Militarization, etc, has little to do with it. Nuclear war is a possibility in more ways than one, and that has only tangential contact with the deep state, or even the plutocracy… Plutoniumocracy trumps plutocracy…

Extremists so extreme that they refuse to think are those who brought us Trump. So they scream absurdities against Trump, and refused to elect Sanders, for the same reason: they prefer hatred to reason. This is exactly why they did not protest too much in preceding years, when the inequity, austerity society was imposed by plutocracy and globalocracy. They let it rot, because they just love it bad.

For decades I have been very critical of the US government, from well before Clinton, and of the usual interpretation of US history. I blasted “plutocracy” before it became popular to do so. I hated Clinton’s abrogation of President Roosevelt’s banking Act of 1933. I am from a multiracial family and a personal friend of Obama from decades back

However, in recent weeks, I have been called a “racist troll”, and worse. I have been called a partisan of Trump. I am NOT (I have criticized aspects of Trump for decades). All these insults, and I got threats. Why? Because of the insults! The insults were supposed to define me, they called for further insults! Apparently my website told some truths which infuriated the non-thinkers, but left them thoughtless, hence the torrent of insults.

Those who have Trump Derangement Syndrome say others are the Nazis, and should be hated. But the Nazis were, first, people who enjoyed walloping in hatred. This is exactly what TDS people are exhibiting at this point. Should they go on with that, the main effect is going to be that Trump will have a supermajority at the Senate in 22 months.
