Evil Is Most Human, So Sometimes It’s Smarter To Be Most Evil. Therein One (Evil) Spring For Morality

Theologians and those who want a world they can understand in its entirety, claim there must be one single, ultimate source in the long and lengthening chains of causes and effects.

And there is one such an ultimate source of everything alive: biological evolution. It’s logical, and it’s alive (bio)! Like the proverbial god! Just more logical!

Science finds ultimate foundations: the axioms of science. Right, as science becomes deeper and more truthful, those axioms change, improve, as they become ever more explanatory.

From the axioms we presently have, biological species arise. Clearly, each species’ behavior is attuned to its survival. That’s exactly the fundamental definition of morality. Thus, one could define the fundamental morality pertaining to each species, as the set of behaviors which ensure its survival. (Morality comes from “mores”, one’s disposition, itself related to the Germanic word “mood”.)

The worst evil is most human. Just as being all too human, is most evil. Yes, headaches all around. Even for Satan. That morality, fundamentally, as given by evolution, human ethology, is made to insure survival, may sound too simplistic, but there, just there, is the default morality, even in humans. It (nearly) means sometimes anything goes, and we feel best about it. It means we are made to feel moral, when anything goes.[1]

This observation has huge consequences. First it means that many behaviors legitimately viewed as monstrous (like the usual suspect, Hitlerism), are actually normal, deep down inside… They are just answers to existential threats. Thus one is not dealing with pathology, not with a disease, but with life threatening circumstances. Second, to react optimally to such situations, one should work on those initial threats. Third, by piling up existential threats, as we are doing now with wild abandon, we are feeding future monstrosities.

Is that all there is to say about morality’s fundamentals? Of course not. Love is essential… considering younger humans are fully dependent for the first decade of their lives. However, ever since the Great Mother deity, and Diotima of Mantinea, that subject has been well covered. The other leg, evil’s foundation, I just mentioned, and it better be understood, lest the great statue of humanity collapses in dust… [2]

How cosmic is that all? Well, life probably didn’t originate in the Solar System…. As it has been recently revealed, that interstellar objects go through said system, and apparently collide with Earth frequently. If morality arises from the simplest mechanisms  ensuring survival, panspermia makes it so that it is then a cosmic phenomenon.

[1] This why WWII Germans kept in fighting for Hitler, even after it was clear the Nazi regime was monstrous. (Had it been made clearer, they may have stopped.)

[2] Part of the understanding of evil enfolds the connection between ecology and apparently inhuman monstrosity. Turns out the latter ensures the survival of the former, hence the species. The devil is not just in the details, sometimes it’s in the logic.

Existential threats are often more felt (emotional- reptile brain) than actually observed and analyzed rationally. Demagogues use this in fear mongering to “energize” their “base”. Fear of the “other” is easily used to divide and conquer, often in the name of “unity”. Hence climate disaster is a tough sell to those who cannot see (or have not directly felt) the consequences. Easier to convince them that those whom they see as the other are the real threat. Tribalism runs deep and evil will run rampant in the name of survival. You keenly identify that the use of “bogey men” threats is a huge problem as many if not perhaps most are unable to discern the real situations that are truly threatening. Poor education and the lack of critical thinking contribute to the situation. And pluto propaganda is fuel on the fire.

This doesn’t look like a species that can restrain itself from destroying the biosphere or cooperate at an intensity required to face the harsh environment of outer space. Might as well accept plutocrat led hothouse Earth extinction…re-elect Trump and reduce billionaire taxes to zero.

You write so much nonsense just to hide you’re a French faggot, go suck kike ass, the Zionist elite hates the French, do you remember “cheese eating surrender monkeys”? The Iraq war was for Israel like all Middle East wars. Jews and Israel are a plague on this earth and need to be purged.

      Patrice,
Why do you tolerate this Nazi’s nonsense on your site? To show us there are Nazis around? Funny thing is that he didn’t react in the pro-Israel essay before.
      Anyway just curious.

You found some of the reasons. Idiots, even Hitler, the Kaiser, Pol Pot, Pinochet, hey, even Maduro, can say correct, and interesting things sometimes… There are also intelligent people who advance things very much, and say gigantic criminal idiocies: Saint Louis, Luther, Louis XIV, Napoleon are examples…

Theories about myself and I are often hilarious. Speaking of hiding one’s true nature “cheese eating surrender monkeys” was a transparent ploy to hide the fact the US plutocracy betrayed France, the Jews, the West and civilization when it fabricated that instrument, Hitler… to demolish all the preceding, and install the “US Century: we presently enjoy.

The (somewhat) pro-fascist, (comically) anti-Jew Celine, as I have related, exposed to the (aghast) Nazi ambassador in Paris in 1944, in his guests, that Hitler had been replaced by a Jew. That was the only explanation for Hitler’s insane behavior, according to Louis Ferdinand Celine… So much for the purge… Hitler, of course, hurt Germany more than all the mythical Jews he could possibly imagine, so Celine was right in that sense.

What is amusing is that your main thesis here doesn’t seem far removed from that of very tough machismo.

That Nazi commenter of yours hated it, because Hitlerism was presented as monstrous bcs it is so dreadfully normal: the Germans imagined stuff, fears, like little children do, and did whatever to assuage those fears, like with hatred of the Jews, although it had little basis in reality.

Funny to see for real with that hateful reader

Prehistoric women were macho, not to be tangled with. One could observe this a bit on the Oregon Trail: women so engaged became much stronger and fiercer…

I had to laugh a gallows humor laugh there. Thanks for that.

My opinion of “the evil” in man? It’s inherent inside each and every one of us, because its origin is our subconciousness. In a certain way, we all have split personalities. We have subconscious mind processes, and conscious ones. The vast majority of our processes are the subconscious ones, and they deal with mundane things like breathing.

But recently, tests have shown that subconscious thoughts are not always only for the mundane chores. Some heavy lifting goes on there in order to inform our conscious decisions. The responses of the subconscious mind are mostly dictated by rote programming. When a hypnotists uses induction to hypnotize, he has put the “conscious” process(s) to sleep. His commands are spoken directly to the foremost subconscious process of the person who is in hypnotic state. Such a person is easily told what to do, because his or her subconsciousness is used to taking rote programming as input. So, the person does not object to doing or saying silly things when commanded to do so.

In essence, I think that bad people are people whose environment has programmed bad stuff into their subconsciousnesses. While they still have the other half of their split personalities (i.e. their consciousnesses) to reason about the value of good and evil, their subconsciousness, when poisoned, will tend to inform the consciousness badly. And – the conscious processes are not always very good at ignoring bad input. Take, for example, the popcorn subliminal tricks used in old movie theater settings. The consciousness in those cases was unaware of the bad input. Popcorn is not evil, but the trojan might not always be so benign.

The subconsciousness is a survival machine, with no inherent morals. Hence, can be evil.
