Why California’s Governor Should Be Recalled, As California Burns

August 31, 2021

When talking of Governor Newsom’s viciousness the establishment media mentions the restaurant he went to, paid by a medical lobbyist, to celebrate said lobbyist’s birthday. This approach seems critical, but it is actually a psychological vaccination. Inoculate with the tiny restaurant scandal, get away with not mentioning the rest.

Yes, Newsom had his feast indoors, without masks, after imposing stridently and most violently masks on all the little people in California. Similarly, the Speaker of the US National Assembly (so-called Congress), Nancy Pelosi was caught several times in public events she organized among the wealthy, doing the same, no masks, after imposing punishment on Congress if caught not wearing masks. Pelosi, a wealthy heir and manipulator of public rage, has found it was enough to accuse her accusers to be “Trumpist“, and California loves her, and especially her lying. And the establishment media celebrates her vigor at denouncing “racist right wing extremists”. The same sing-song is rolled out, again and again, and it always work…

Newsom’s “French Laundry” wine, alone was already $12,000. The minimal dish there is $800…

Newsom’s extravagant unmasked restaurant outing is often mentioned, because, actually, it’s an alluring diversion. It looks scandalous, but extravagantly innocent. It put Newsom up there, another flamboyant celebrity, with Prince Harry and Meghan. Yes, it’s bad that restaurant episode, but in a sense typically hypocritical, yet nobody hurt. But Newsom has done way worse: preventing the education of most children, burning California, reinforcing the oligarchy. Talking about the “French Laundry” episode sounds funny, like a sitcom. It amuses people, make them feel benignly superior to Newsom. But Newsom is actually not a comic object, but a tragic figure, an end-of-civilization figure.

My daughter was prevented to go to school by governor Newsom’s decision to close public schools, last October 2020. Meanwhile the governor kept private schools open, including the private schools where his four children went. In my county of Alameda, 32,000 wealthy kids could go to in person private schools. While 300,000 public school children were confined at home. And so on.

The squalor of the camps in California is incomparable (worst in the world, according to the UN). Entire parts of some cities are polluted by excrements from the camps. Newsom launched the camps, when he was mayor of San Francisco. That made him look Politically Correct.

Newsom did not clean the forests… which are burning, turning skies orange and polluting the air for months. Specialists such as Scott Stephens, a top professor of fire science at UC Berkeley have found the state to be completely derelict in fire prevention. In particular, the Caldor Fire progression along California route 50 into the Tahoe Basin was not a problem with the Federal Government… but with the California government.

Newsom has tried to fix some of the issues; However, he has been ineffective: democratic (in name only) cities have resisted his efforts to build housing, going to court instead (where they are losing).

Newsom made his fortune from leveraging his father’s position as lawyer for Getty oil. The Gettys have financed Newsom’s 11 (eleven) companies… Why do we keep on calling such people “democrats”? (I am a registered Democrat, and I campaigned for Obama, BTW).

On August 29, Jeff from California commented in the New York Times, trying to publicly contradict me by sounding better informed and superior::

@Patrice Ayme: Well as to the burning forests, the State of California has has absolutely no authority since those burning forests are own3d by the Federal Government. As to private schools, the State has no legal authority to close private schools.

The point was not to close the schools… But to keep them open, so that the children could learn. Closing schools is bad, very few countries did it for any length of time. California did it maximally.

My local superintendent of public schools, Dr. Wells, who is black like charcoal, had reallocated his school budget to redo the entire ventilation system of the schools with HEPA, rendering the schools safe.

However, California governor Newsom ordered the public schools closed, knowing full well the rich kids, including his own, would get an education in private schools while the public school kids would not. Pseudo-“democrats” like governor Newsom are wealthy and enjoy that their children learn, while the black lives of common animals, which matter, are better left ignorant. California private schools often cost a large fraction (1/3) of the median family income. For Newsom, with his multimillion dollar income from his eleven Getty companies, paying several times the median family income so that his kids go to school, this is nothing: after all, he earned last year 40 times the median family income, or so…

As far as the forests are concerned, the least Newsom could have done, is to draw attention to this dramatic problem, in a major way. He did not. It turns out really a lot can be done, especially where people are living. People do not live in National Forests, but in area and corridors next to these national forests…. And this is where fire penetration is the worse, for example, in the Caldor Fire, along California road 50…

Also Newsom and company could force the utility company to bury its fire generating power lines, instead of forcing it to spend all its money on a new wind turbines to replace the old ones…. A case of apparent corruption.

Another way to diminish fire danger is to allow grazing… This is actually happening in many Californian national forests… But not where governor Newsom had jurisdiction, proving my point.

A drastic way to reduce cataclysmic fire it to make prescribed fires in winter. Those have been typically blocked by “democrat” cities, and the governor could have condemned them, explaining why those ideas were bad. Instead in the past year, California spent more than $1 billion on emergency fire suppression efforts but, under Newsom’s leadership slashed its prevention budget. And only prevention will work. Also some prescribed fires have been blocked by specifically Californian “ecological” laws, passed by “democrats”… starting multi-year reviews… Where money is wasted in a corruption maze, while the fate of a bird, or snake, is contemplated (when the cataclysmic fire finally happens, both are burned).

This is why for example prescribed fires were blocked in Marin County, which is ready to explode in flames, up to a few months ago.

Newsom had no problem taking unconstitutional actions using “emergency powers” to close the schools, force masks, or directing business towards his immensely wealthy sponsors…

Newsom looks more interested by his multimillion dollar annual income… And his ultra wealthy sponsors are now spending dozen of millions to keep their gravy train in place. Newsom ordered small stores closed, big ones, open: he is an oligarch.

Burning along highway 50, as seen below at Echo Summit, with private properties for thousand of feet on both sides was the governor of California’s responsibility, not the forest service.

This looks like Mars, but it is actually Sibley Regional Park, in Oakland, California, looking east, enjoying the smoke of the burning state, as the land goes from thickly forested to parched desert…

***

In a bit more detail, answering a reader: I have written about cleaning the forests, many years ago… Even taking pictures of the dying forests in the Tahoe Basin (which I know thoroughly all around, including the parts presently burning)… and I then predicted giant fires. Newsom did preciously nothing, but for purchasing night vision helicopters (which have just started in action; I was present at a fire stopped by helicopters, three weeks ago).

At this point the situation is so terrible, it is hard to believe. I have some pictures on my site. One can take two hours to go one mile on a trail, so many trees having collapsed. Some methods are readily available: salvaging wood from dead trees, prescribed fires around winter, grazing with cows and goats, and planting anti-fire trees: redwoods and Monterey cypresses, which make rain out of fog, and are nearly impossible to burn. Newsom did nothing. On housing he means well, but he has been ineffective against NIMBYs…

P/S: New York Times allowed a few careful, polite and measured comments of mine about this, telling the truth, and nothing but the truth… They censored others. Some were recommended by many readers: ooopppsss! Superior censors saw this… So then the following appeared everywhere: The comment you are looking for is currently unavailable.

It is proposed, by wise people, and I was the first to do this, to my knowledge, that any act of censorship by any KNOWLEDGE UTILITY (such as Facebook, Twitter, Google, all and any newspaper) should be justifiable in a court of law. And a law should be passed enabling any citizen victim of censorship, to sue.

PLANET ON FIRE

August 29, 2021

A picture of the Climate Calamity talks more than words can express. Look carefully at the scale:

This is a picture of the Caldor Fire, east of Sacramento and thirty kilometers (in that particular picture), west of Lake Tahoe. The date is 28th August, 2021. The fire has burned for 12 days, it’s spread over 100 kilometers or so. Those columns of fire are a kilometer high. Look carefully at the scale, by blowing up the picture: the flames originate beyond the horizon; at the horizon one can see a forest of centennial trees, 200 feet high, taller than trees get in Europe. As you look at the picture, these ancient trees are forever gone. At best, they will be replaced by bushes.

All forests in many alpine, arctic, tropical and soon ex-temperate zones are also going to go up in flames too.

Why, how did we get to this point?

Lack of knowledge, lack of wisdom, lack of courage, lack of sincerity… And the contradiction in adjecto regime of “representative democracy”. “Representative democracy” is neither representative, nor democracy.

This “representative democracy” has blocked intelligent debate, enabling corrupt “experts”, paid to tell lies, to dominate the debate, not just with fake data, fake logic, fake news, but also fake emotions. For example insisting, 50 years ago, that nuclear energy for power production was an immense danger, always would be, and all progressives and ecologists should oppose it. Above is the result.

Yes, all California forest will burn.

That’s just the start. Kilometer high flames…

Masks Don’t Work As Well As Rotting Toad

August 29, 2021

Best way to avoid bad COVID (besides vaccinations and clean air)? Wear, not a mask, but a crushed rotting toad on your head: nobody will come close, you be safe. The voodoo mask people, who call toilet paper on their face, “science”, will be repelled. I am glad to repel those who confuse voodoo with science.

An INCONCLUSIVE review article on masks was published by CDC, in September 2020, 4 months before the OUTLAWING of most mask types in Europe. Uncritical masks partisans naively brandish it… but they did not read it… Because if they had, they would not talk about it as if it were a reference… https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC7293495/?fbclid=IwAR2D6cbIj7Mq_GdzxJpAYCEk32l30ylSh2Auxm1gVVsIdPMhymEzetw7N6E

Here is its (inconclusive) conclusion of the CDC in said article. (In the meantime numerous studies have shown masks and grandly named N95 respirators, to be mostly INEFFECTIVE… While CLEAN AIR from HEPA filters and ventilation did reduce viral loads… Even the new York Times did its own study concluding HEPA and ventilation worked.)

“7. Conclusion

Researchers have speculated that both droplets and aerosols generated from non-violent and violent expirations of SARS-CoV-2-infected people may be responsible for the airborne transmission of COVID-19 disease. However, more research work should be conducted to understand the behavior of virus-laden droplets and aerosols in different environmental settings, especially confined spaces so that the transmission of COVID-19 pandemic in the built environment could be fully ascertained. The case studies found worldwide indicate that the behavior of the SARS-CoV-2 virus has been unprecedentedly unique with more survival and viable rates in the air and believed to linger in the air for an extended period. The challenge before many healthcare workers in combatting the disease would be a daunting task unless proper administrative, clinical, and physical measures are taken within the healthcare settings. Inter-disciplinary research on the behavior of the SARS-CoV-2 virus needs to be conducted to prevent COVID-19 disease from spreading worldwide.”

Oh, by the way not one serious scientific paper shows that “masks” are effective with children and COVID. As usual the overriding reasoning is the same: COVID is like smoke… Same size, one hundred nanometers. Masks’ efficiency is computed in micron, not nanometer. It takes one thousand nanometers to make one micron. Actually surgical masks are made of plastic, polypropylene, typically, and are made to intercept the spherical cells of Staphylococcus aureus, a bacteria, which are one (1) μm in diameter: one micron, ten times the size of the SARS CoV2 virus.

A MD objected: “Masks aren’t torture. Not everything we do generates aerosols.

Well, for the sadomasochists, torture is pleasure. I had a friend Larry Stark, a MD, PhD, and endowed with many other prestigious positions (professor of neurology, optometry and electric engineering at UC Berkeley and UCSF). He was very defiant of Medical Doctors, saying, basically, that they did not know how to think, as they confused cooking recipes, statistics and genuine mental creativity.

So some doctors told me masks could not possibly hurt, so we may as well use them. However, there are severe medical consequences to masks. One can break limbs because one could not see a defect of the ground (I know personally one case). There are allergies, especially for children. After I run, I absolutely cannot wear mask for quite a while, I suffocate. Masks introduce fibers in the lungs, etc.

Because of intense smoke in the burning Sierra Nevada, I use so called N95 “respirators” twice (they kept some of the AQI 400 smoke out). But had to remove them promptly because I nearly broke limbs within 100 feet (I run cross country, bad mountain trails).

The BS about masks has incited authorities to forsake what works: clean air. CLEAN AIR, like clean water, will one day be the norm. It is technically feasible (HEPA).

Where I am located, mask obsessed PUBLIC schools did NOT invest in clean air: they had decided that masks were the panacea, all they needed, and those who did not wear them, “spread the disease”… Let all children wear masks, and COVID will go away. That was science, according to those public schools…

Well, in Marin County, one (non-vaccinated) teacher with COVID infected 26 MASKED children (the closer to the teacher, the more infected). That’s just one example. The incompetent, rotten governor had only talked and given orders about masks, although HEPA filters are very cheap, and he has a budget surplus of 100 billion dollars… Enough to cover all of California with HEPA filters…

Finally, the San Francisco school board just decided to invest in CLEAN AIR. Too little, too late. Classes are getting full of COVID, even in my daughter public school. Conclusion: COVID, and masked children are forced to go back home.

So it is back to the real truth: in California authorities do not mind if public school close and private schools stay open. Last year the corrupt governor had his four children going to in-person private school (Newsom made two million dollars from his eleven Getty companies) . Meanwhile, “Black Lives Matter” people had children not going to school….

Long live the masquerade…

CDC Early Release / August 27, 2021 / 70

Tracy Lam-Hine, MBA1,2; Stephen A. McCurdy, MD1,3; Lisa Santora, MD1; Lael Duncan, MD1; Russell Corbett-Detig, PhD4; Beatrix Kapusinszky, PhD5; Matthew Willis, MD1 (View author affiliations)View suggested citation

Summary What is already known about this topic?

The SARS-CoV-2 B.1.617.2 (Delta) variant is highly transmissible. Prevention guidance in schools varies by jurisdiction.

What is added by this report?

During May 23–June 12, 2021, 26 laboratory-confirmed COVID-19 cases occurred among Marin County, California, elementary school students and their contacts following exposure to an unvaccinated infected teacher. The attack rate in one affected classroom was 50%; risk correlated with seating proximity to the teacher.

[The CDC deduced from that that masking should be “included”… But once again CDC failed to mention HEPA filters and ventilation…]

Taliban As US Deep State Tool

August 27, 2021

Except if one believes that the leadership of the USA is made of complete idiots, the collusion and conspiracy between the US Deep State and the Taliban should be blatant to unbiased observers. Brandishing one’s alleged complete incompetence goes only that far.

So there was a slick and full reversal of alliance. Now the US and the Taliban are comrades in arms, murdered and terrorized by the Islamist state together (never mind that the Taliban likes it, when qualified Afghans don’t rush to the airport anymore…) Muslim Fundamentalism is the tool which keeps on giving to US deep manipulators. The top commander of the evacuation, US general McKenzie said, on August 25, 2021: “We use the Taliban as a tool“.

That was the day after the CIA director met with the Taliban in Kabul. The Afghan army surrender was forced by the withdrawal of US logistics, air support, and even Bagram US air force base, where US intelligence was headquartered. In other words a conscious, or subconscious mindset got established to surrender Afghanistan to the Taliban, and this arguably started under Trump, when Trump negotiated with the Taliban… A UN recognized terrorist group.

In the last century US oil men and financiers were behind Muslim Fundamentalism: the deal, renewed and institutionalized with US president Roosevelt meeting for days with the founder of Saudi Arabia, Abdelaziz Ibn Saud, was to recycle petrodollars on Wall Street, using Fundamentalist Islam to block aspiration to socialism, progress, Jeffersonian democracy, populism, etc. It worked splendidly. At least for US oligarchs, plutocrats, oil men, and their Deep State employees in top US academia and think thanks, and various consultancies, in and out of the US administrations… And their co-sponsors of the military industrial complex.

Another advantage is that all this tribal fundamentalism helped push away France and Britain. Similarly support for Islamism on the part of the US Deep State enabled to play Pakistan against India: giving Afghanistan to the Taliban is another example of that, as the Taliban is a tool of the Pakistani ISI, itself a US Deep State tool.

On July 3, 1979, US president Carter directed US intelligence to make it so that Muslim Fundamentalists destabilize the (“socialist”) republic of Afghanistan. To entrap the USSR. Now who is going to be entrapped next? China? Similar Machiavellianism was used against Indians… I mean Native Americans…

[A simplified and shorter version of the previous essay was sent to David Brooks, New York Times as a comment to “This Is How Theocracy Shrivels“, Aug. 27, 2021, 3:42 p.m. ET. Censored. Tell the truth, except if it’s inconvenient to people who may invite you to dinner…]

P/S 1: It was revealed that the Taliban killed ISIS leader Abu Omar Khorasani when they took control of Bagram prison on August 15. Khorasani, overseeing ISIS K in South Asia and the Far East, gave an interesting interview to the Wall Street Journal shortly before his demise (two days exactly): “They will let me free if they are good Muslims...” “The leadership of Daesh is independent, the goals of Daesh are independent,” Mr. Khorasani said, using the Arab name for the Islamic State. “We have a global agenda and so when people ask who can really represent Islam and the whole Islamic community, of course we’re more attractive.””

The Taliban also freed ‘thousands’ of ISIS-Khorasan fighters. It is likely that they let through the bomber, probably a woman with a big burka…  US can be Machiavellian, so can the Taliban. And meek censor David Brooks has neither courage nor sincerity, and his daily bread is to keep the US population brutish and stupid.

***

P/S 2: Biden launched an unmanned aircraft strike against ISIS K, claiming success with no civilians killed and two authors of the bombing destroyed. How he could be so sure that we would believe all that menas he takes us for imbeciles.

***

P/S 3: The New York Times allowed my comment more than 50 hours after it was submitted… so nobody in its fanatical, obscurantist readership could read it… Censoring by not censoring, it reminds one of Quantum computing, where things are, and are not, at the same time…

P/S 4, added two days later, from WSJ:

In Its Last Days in Kabul, U.S. Turns to Taliban as a Partner
Stretched thin, American forces rely on militants they fought for 20 years to help provide security at the airport

Twenty years ago, the U.S. invaded Afghanistan to get rid of the Taliban. Today, American forces, battered by one of the bloodiest attacks of the war, are relying for their own security on that same group, whose members they were trying to kill just weeks earlier.

Fighters of the Taliban’s elite Badri 313 unit, dressed in the latest tactical gear, patrol the same Kabul airport parking lot as U.S. Marines, separated by a few coils of razor wire. Farther away, Taliban foot soldiers pat down Afghans seeking to enter the facility and disperse crowds with whips and occasional gunfire in the air.

The Taliban’s key mission around the airport in the final days of the chaotic withdrawal is to hold off Islamic State, an even more radical organization, which killed 13 U.S. troops and nearly 200 Afghans in a suicide bombing on Thursday.

In this arrangement, the 5,200 American forces in Afghanistan “use the Taliban as a tool to protect us as much as possible,” Gen. Frank McKenzie, head of the U.S. Central Command, said after Thursday’s attack. The Taliban and the U.S., he added, now share a “common purpose.”

More than that: The Taliban checkpoints on the way to the airport—in coordination with the U.S.—are screening Afghans whose past work with Western forces puts them in danger of Taliban retribution. The Taliban are “providing the outer security cordon” for American forces, Gen. McKenzie said, and have closed some roads at U.S. request, extending the checkpoints’ perimeter.

To many Americans who had been involved in the 20-year war against the Taliban, one that resulted in some 2,465 American military deaths [and more than twice that in US contractor deaths, plus thousands of NATO deaths…], this new reality in Kabul is nothing short of mind-boggling.

“The U.S. mission in Afghanistan is ending in the worst possible way imaginable,” said Lisa Curtis, an Afghanistan expert who served in the State Department, the Central Intelligence Agency and the National Security Council under the Bill Clinton, George W. Bush and Donald Trump administrations. The way the withdrawal is taking place “has resulted in tremendous costs to U.S. national security for a long time to come,” she said.

The Taliban have fought Islamic State since 2015, and they gunned down its senior leader, Abu Omar al Khorasani, hours after they seized Kabul, along with eight other jailed Islamic State militants. Now, the terrorist group, whose branch in Afghanistan is called Islamic State-Khorasan, or ISIS-K, is using the latest events to paint the Taliban as treasonous stooges of the infidels.

“It is to be noted that, for more than a week, the American forces, in partnership with the Taliban militia, have evacuated hundreds of foreign staff, translators and spies who worked for the U.S. military over the past years,” Islamic State said in a statement that claimed responsibility for Thursday’s bombing.

Sensitive to such accusations, the Taliban say they aren’t cooperating with American troops—and deny reports of a recent meeting between their leaders and CIA Director William J. Burns.

“Just because we have an agreement not to attack the Americans until they complete their pullout doesn’t mean that we have cooperation with them or provide security for them,” said Habibi Samangani, a member of the Taliban administration in Kabul. “In the airport, they are in one part, we are in another.”

What is the Scientific Method? First, Debate. And Consider Obama’s Corruption

August 23, 2021

The New York Times glorifies the “sophisticated, vaccinated crowd” at the Obama narcissistic birthday multimillionaire bash it gushed about… and then bemoans the lack of scientific education of the US population… obvious in the case of COVID, supposedly. However, it contributes to it. It not so mysteriously delayed my comment below by 12 hours, while letting several hundreds anti-Trump and anti-Republican comments getting published instead.

What is the essence of the scientific method? The essence of the scientific method is to debate experiments and the logic of their interpretation. Debate is the first order of things, with the “Scientific Method”. No debate, no science. If one wants to teach the scientific method, one will have to teach debating, and the love of debate, first. So science education starts well outside of science… In the domain of applied philosophy, rejoining what Steven Weinberg was saying.

Here is my lethally delayed comment:

What is the scientific method? Some say: double blinds, statistics? In truth, it’s not completely elucidated. The mRNA vaccine science was generally dismissed only a few years prior. Synthetic messenger RNA (mRNA) engineered by Pfizer/BioNTech and Moderna use pseudouridine and 5-methyl cytidine as substitutions for uridine and cytidine to avoid the immune response and cytotoxicity induced by introducing mRNA into cells. MRNA not using these substitutions is less effective. However, the influence of base modifications on RNA is poorly understood. And so on.

The scientific method is common sense, applied to experiments (or thought experiments) it advances through debate. So debates, and the desire-to-debate should be promoted. The mRNA vaccines are working, it’s likely that they will have little negative health impact… Differently from vaccines which modify the genetics

There is plenty of scientific evidence that masks are counterproductive… The virus is the same size as smoke (100 nanometers); dogs smell COVID at a distance: feeling protected by a thin material, people gather, and breathe the smoke/COVID. HEPA filtration and ventilation certainly absolutely work, and should be enforced!

Some authorities in the West were derelict: death rates vary enormously, worldwide. Europe received flights from Wuhan, while the city was isolated, inside China. It has transpired that NIH was financing the Wuhan Institute of Virology to turn around an interdiction of Gain of Function from Obama

This gigantic spread, the Obama narcissistic birthday bash, with Obama’s mansion to the left, is a testimony to the corruption of a “democratic” US president. Differently from Carter, Reagan, the Bushes, or Trump… Clinton and Obama made all their money from presidential trafficking… The island where this is located, Martha’s Vineyard, is full of professional “democrats”, and the corruption so intense the median home value is 4.2 million dollars. The spread above had been listed for 15 millions… Just one of many Obama’s properties…

Small world: Going around GoF interdiction by Obama (rightly so, I may have played a role…)… made NIH finance WIV. It reminds one of the CIA financing Mujahidins.

Obama’s birthday bash, with its huge 475 persons party, was a considerable reduction of what had been planned and had to be reduced because of the Delta Variant pandemic (the optics were bad). Obama danced all night, nobody wore masks. A president, flaunting the wealth he made from his presidential office. How does one call that? Afghanistan? President Truman, a democrat, had made a point to live from his retirement. And Truman explained why: to honor the office of the presidency. But Obama presided over the corruption he installed in Afghanistan… The buck stopped with him…

And why don’t you talk about Trump, lesser wits will bemoan. Well Trump did not pretend to be what he is not. Now that Biden is in power, it is very clear that Women Lives Don’t Matter (“US has no national interest in Afghanistan”), and that the Machiavellian treachery, mercurial and unpredictable inversion of alliances that was used to defeat the American Natives, is still in command, from the institutional subconscious. Ah, yes, once they were sure nobody would read my comment, 12 hours after getting it, and after publishing hundreds of partisan comments about the hatred of “Republicans” for science, the NYT published my ideas. So, the NYT cannot be accused of censorship and violating its “newspaper of record” mission.

Symmetry Breaking, Afghanistan, Islam, Psychology And Civilization: Steven Weinberg In Memoriam

August 22, 2021

Abstract: Symmetry Breaking, a key concept in modern physics, is actually useful all over the world of thought. Continually, thinkers grab inequivalent categories, say “Christian civilization” and “Islam”, proclaim them equivalent, when they are not, and then proceed with insane thoughts. Breaking a symmetry, and then reasoning by analogy, when the symmetry does not hold, is fraught.

Another example of groundless symmetry proclaimed, is to believe that, because history happened some way before, it always will. Of course, it will not, and the titanic climate calamity is an example. In truth, the breaking of symmetry is crucial, in all matters of analysis.

***

High minds call for high thoughts and instructive debates. As García Márquez noticed: “we are living in the age of vulgarity“… Better talk with a dead high mind than live creepy-crawlies. A top, unfortunately now defunct, physicist made an observation on civilization, which is particularly striking in light of those who claims there is a perfect symmetry between “Christian civilization” (something that is disqualified, because it never really happened, as Nietzsche pointed out) and Islam (a comically cosmic octopus, a superstition which pretends to be civilization itself).

Steven Weinberg played a central part in formulating and establishing theoretical physics’ two standard models — the standard model of fundamental interactions and the standard model of cosmology. He was professor at Berkeley when he proposed the unified theory of electromagnetism and weak interactions, which is still in use, He would ultimately get the Nobel Prize for it in 1979. However, Berkeley did not deem that enough of an achievement, and did not give him tenure…

Weinberg sometimes expressed strong views against religion, such as this: “Anything that we scientists can do to weaken the hold of religion should be done and may in the end be our greatest contribution to civilization.

By religion, what ties us together, Weinberg meant religious superstition, of course. (The religion of the Republic also exists… and it’s good!)

This is interesting in the light of Feynman, the most famous US born physicist, who tried to insinuate, idiotically, that philosophy was of no value… in physics (his son became a philosopher)… while in truth he made plenty of philosophy (including a bit with yours truly).

Compare with Joe Biden’s assertion that “the US has no national interest in Afghanistan”. Whatever the usage of that present mode means! Does civilization have an interest in Afghanistan? Biden just gave Afghanistan, a country of 40 million, to the Taliban, a group of superstitious fanatics who contradict the naturally given religion of humanity, the cult of reason.

Some cynics will say, oh no, Biden just gave Afghanistan to Pakistan. Indeed, look at the map: they fit perfectly, and have in common the Pashtun country, the dominant ethnic group of Afghanistan… enemy of others… and with a traditional old moral system anterior to, and compatible with, Islam.

The weak minded make a symmetry between Afghanistan and Vietnam. Kissinger told Nixon that within two years nobody would care about Vietnam, and Vietnam would become a backwater. However the North Vietnamese military were, roughly, no less civilized than the South Vietnamese military. North and South were both corrupt, in different ways, there was a rough symmetry.

I know that specialists like Lewis claim that: “Why did the discoverers of America sail from Spain rather than from a Muslim Atlantic port, out of which such voyages were indeed attempted in earlier times? Why did the great scientific breakthrough occur in Europe and not, as one might reasonably have expected, in the richer, more advanced, and in most respects more enlightened realm of Islam?

A more sophisticated form of the blame game finds its targets inside, rather than outside, Islamic society. One such target is religion—for some, specifically Islam. But to blame Islam as such is usually hazardous and not often attempted. Nor is it very plausible. For most of the Middle Ages it was neither the older cultures of the Orient nor the newer cultures of the West that were the major centers of civilization and progress but the world of Islam.”

Is Lewis lying, or just ignorant, or fundamentally stupid? Or is he just earning his stipend as a friend of the ruling fossil fuel plutocracy of the West and its love of Islam (Fundamentalism)? “Islam” meant, literally, that slavery was an integral part of society. Only servants of plutocracy like Lewis would consider that slavery is “civilization and progress”. This is just one point. That escaped slaves were rewarded by impalement doesn’t even need to be mentioned…

Also Lewis observes that: “to blame Islam as such is usually hazardous and not often attempted.” In other words “Islam” is a sadistic hyper violent regime as hazardous as… as what?… a rattlesnake?

Religious apologists of violently interpretable superstitions (RAVIS) always evoke contexts. Here one can see that, in context, Islam apologist Lewis says slavery is OK, and “hazardous” religious terror is OK. Similarly, Biden says nobody has been killed yet, while terrorized Afghans fall from the sky.

Islam is what one should call a war religion, a war superstition. Just read an unexpunged version of the Qur’an. Now the Jewish Bible, root of Judeo-Christianism, and thus Islam, is also a war superstition, where God order the Jews to holocaust an athnicity at least once. Islam is just more so (although there are versions of Islam which have their own version of the Qur’an, it’s not the case of the Shia and Suni).

Just as with pandemic and global heating from the climate calamity, some will say it does not matter. But Afghanistan was held by only 2,500 US soldiers for a total of 9,582 soldiers from NATO nations. No US soldier got killed in 18 months in Afghanistan. The mission in Afghanistan cost nearly nothing, to the USA, relative to the danger of letting fanatics in command of an enormous country, subjugating twenty million females into slavery..

Now that superstition is hyper powerful, What if the Taliban and his allies were to seize power in Pakistan, get control of the enormous nuclear force there? The senile Biden will say whatever about it. But the possibility has augmented enormously now, because Biden has shown that obstinacy in matters of fanaticism can win over anything, not just the military, but reason itself.

It is hard to see, at this point, how the electro-weak theory will contribute to civilization… But it can be done. The electro-weak depends upon SYMMETRY BREAKING.

In physics, symmetry breaking is a phenomenon in which (infinitesimally) small fluctuations acting on a system crossing a critical point decide the system’s fate, by determining which branch of a bifurcation is taken. To an outside observer unaware of the fluctuations (or “noise”), the choice will appear arbitrary. This process is called symmetry “breaking”, because such transitions usually bring the system from a symmetric but disorderly state into one or more definite states. Symmetry breaking is thought to play a major role in pattern formation.

In his 1972 Science paper titled “MORE IS DIFFERENT” Nobel laureate (and great physicist, a co-inventor of the Higgs, if not more) Philip.W. Anderson used the idea of symmetry breaking to show that even if reductionism is true, its converse, constructionism, which is the idea that scientists can easily predict complex phenomena given theories describing their components, is not. Symmetry Breaking creates indeterminacy.

Giving Afghanistan to violent supertitionists broke the symmetry, pandemonium will ensue. That pandemonium always favors the USA is an historical truth, it has become subconsciously institutional… Hence the will of the US Deep State to give Afghanistan back to the Taliban, obvious since 2001… However, what has always happened for some good reasons, does not have to stay true once these reasons are removed. Contrarily to the preceding centuries, North America is now vulnerable to attack… In more ways than one. For example, North America depends upon China… next to Afghanistan. So say:”Oh, let the Chinese discipline the Taliban!”. Yes, well, next dictator Xi of China would then discipline much more. And so on.

On August 1, 1914, the fascist racist disciplinarian imperialists of Germany decided to take control of the French Republic. It would take just a few days. Then it would be Russia’s turn, and Great Britain would then negotiate. In the real world, the French fought like demons and five weeks later nearly destroyed the entire German army which had to precipitously retreat. So even trusting disciplinarian dictatorship to bring order is no sure thing, in the way of order. A branch of the Taliban is actually fighting the Pakistani government, and the Taliban, or its allies, one could well imagined, could be in control of Pakistan and its nukes… next year.

How one got into that calamity, traditionally called World War One, has to do with the envoy of US president Wilson waxing lyrical on the racial inferiority of the French, in Berlin, June 1, 1914, two months earlier, in the Kaiser’s office (and proposing an alliance, no less: crafty war mongering by US “Democrats” is nothing new, just ask Lincoln…)

Psychology matters, it’s symmetry breaking. Mania in crowds, and insanity in the collectives are all examples of symmetry breaking, and making more, completely different from the symmetrical order it arose from.

This is a picture of Bliss Park, above Lake Tahoe, California, at an altitude of 1900 meters (6,500 feet), August 22, 2021, today. The smoke is blatant, it’s coming from the Caldor Fire, located 50 kilometers way. But not just that: notice that some of the large tress are already dead. This is symmetry breaking in action: trees centuries old are already dead. The future will then not be as the past: the time symmetry has been broken. At the same time, millions of of centuries old trees, which were not already dead, are burning in other giant California fires. The smoke, often laden with half-burned industrial chemicals, is so vicious, there is evidence that it can kill trees directly…

White House Censors French President Macron On Afghanistan

August 20, 2021

To manipulate US opinion, it is primordial to censor the French. It was true when Washington was president and enjoyed slavery, it was true during the preparation of Biden instigated invasion of Iraq, and it is still true today. Indeed, the French and American republics arose together, in an entangled fashion, with the same thinkers and systems of thought which themselves originated on both sides of the Atlantic (with a direct input from the American Natives too). The French Declaration of Human and Citizen Rights of 1789 is the basis of the UN Charter… And that same French declaration of Human Rights led to the US Civil War against slavery, and US Civil Rights Movement of the 1960s. So when the French and the US government diverge, US progressives should study the differences very carefully. (For example in 1933, French and the US governments had a big fight over Hitler: the French wanted the US to help them fight Hitler, and the plutocratic US president, Roosevelt, made it clear that he viewed a bigger problem than Hitler… After that the relationship between France and Roosevelt stayed extremely bad until Roosevelt died, shortly after giving half of Europe to Joseph Stalin and a blank check to Abdelaziz Bin Saud in exchange for Muslim Fundamentalism and petrodollars, at Yalta and the Great Bitter Lakes, respectively, in 1945… This explains why the US did not deliver on its guarantees to France in 1940, when Hitler invaded Western Europe… See the third picture, a 1940 cartoon in Why Did Germany Lose World War Two?)

The White House’s version of a call between Joe Biden and President Emmanuel Macron on the capitulation in Afghanistan leaves out an impassioned plea from the French president that the US and its allies have a “moral responsibility” to evacuate Afghan allies.

The French government’s readout of the conversation was released on Friday, a day after the call happened, and indicates that Macron emphasized ensuring the safe evacuation of Afghan citizens who assisted American and European troops over the past 20 years at great risk to themselves and their families.

According to the readout, Macron described the mission to evacuate allies as a “moral responsibility” and told Biden: “We cannot abandon them.”

The Élysée said Macron “underlined the absolute need to ensure rapid and concrete coordination among allies on the ground to continue the evacuations”.

The White House version, however, made no mention of a “moral responsibility” to evacuate Afghan allies.

This type of lying is similar to the censorship of the revelation by a US National Security that President Carter decided on July 1979, to attack Afghanistan, using Muslim Fundamentalists organized and financed by Pakistani Inter Service Intelligence, ISI. It was published in the French press, but not in the USA. So US citizens always refer as 9-11 as a the new dawn which caught them by surprise.

https://patriceayme.wordpress.com/2013/01/21/usa-attack-against-afghanistan/

Meanwhile Biden literally said on TV live, in a contrived Question and Answer session, with pre-selected questions, that “that some point was not supposed to be the total demise of the Afghan force which was 300 persons“. Yes, 300, three hundred persons. And Biden left it at that. 300 persons. Harris and Bliken were by his sides, properly masked. That interesting slip caused Vice President “Cacklela” Harris to lower her eyelids, look down to her right, embarrassed beyond belief, as she searched for some countenance, while Sec State Bliken’s eyes got fixed, threatened to come out of his skull, and finally he blinked and swallowed when nobody chuckled. Biden did not correct his slip. However, within a few seconds Biden brutally turned around and was escorted out by Blinken. It is good to see Biden is still aware that he is starting to short-circuit! One should also command the “Democratic” Party to give a chance to the slightly demented to perform any job.

In another bizarre perspective, Biden said twice that US warplanes provided overhead air patrols for French helicopters and French special forces picking up significant others within Kabul. What is bizarre, is that the USA, which has more significant others, US Citizens and US Residents (“green card holders”) and Afghan Allies, than France, within Kabul, is not doing the same. Apparently, the Taliban, to which the US talks continuously to, has not extended the same privileges to the USA as it did to France, and now the UK, and Germany.

We are led by “300”.

Biden will not repeat the mistakes of the past, that would be too simple, he will make new ones:

French Republic:

Telephone conversation between the President of the Republic and Joe Biden, President of the United States of America on Afghanistan (Elysée Palace, August 19, 2021)

President Macron spoke with U.S. President Joe Biden this evening about the situation in Afghanistan. He underscored the absolute need for swift, concrete coordination between the allies to ensure the evacuation of our citizens, Afghan men and women who worked for the allies, and those who are in danger

The head of state emphasized our collective moral responsibility toward the Afghan men and women who need our protection and who share our values. We cannot abandon them.

The two presidents agreed to strengthen their efforts in the humanitarian and political arenas and on counterterrorism in the days to come, particularly within the framework of the G7. It is absolutely urgent and it is a collective responsibility, for which the U.S. President assured President Macron of his support.

The differences are subtle, but important. White House version:

BRIEFING ROOM
Readout of President Joe Biden Call with President Emmanuel Macron of France
AUGUST 19, 2021

STATEMENTS AND RELEASES
President Joe Biden and President Emmanuel Macron of France spoke today about developments in Afghanistan. They lauded the tireless efforts of their personnel working closely together in Kabul on the evacuation of their citizens, the brave Afghans who have stood by us and our NATO partners, and other vulnerable Afghan nationals. They underscored the importance of continued close coordination among allies and democratic partners on Afghanistan, including through multilateral fora, on the provision of humanitarian assistance and support for refugees. They welcomed the virtual G7 leaders’ meeting next week to help coordinate these efforts and discuss a common approach.

Fighting The Climate Calamity Requires Nuclear, Hydrogen

August 17, 2021

Afghanistan fell to the Taliban in a few weeks. The entire biosphere is falling into a climate calamity in a few years, as we watch, now. This is completely obvious if one goes in the right places, say, California’s Sierra Nevada, where literally ecosystems, trees and species, some dozen of million years old, are in the process of being wiped out.

The solutions long term exist already, or nearly so. But fundamental research efforts are needed, either on how to deploy hydrogen technology massively and everywhere, and, or new, safer and much less polluting nuclear technologies… Proposed tech such as Carbon Capture and climate engineering are lies. Carbon Capture is a lure, and trying to interfere with the climate, while increasing CO2, is another lure, and very dangerous, in several ways.

All of these trees are dead or dying from the CLIMATE CALAMITY. Not a speck of brown was visible in the same trees last year.

Climate Crash

[August 17, 2021.] The climate calamity cannot be fought just with existing renewables. Indeed storage based on existing batteries uses the same resources in rare materials as electric cars and windmills: there is not enough to go around, by orders of magnitudes, and the overall CO2 budget of, say, electric cars is not clearly positive. It may even be negative. Making half the solar PV panels in China is economically efficient at first sight, until one realizes their fabrication is energized by coal.

So the fundamental problem is base load. When Germany decided to give up on CO2 clean nuclear energy, it fostered usage of the dirtiest coal in the world, lignite.

In the past, dams enabled to store energy by pumping them up with water. Nuclear power plants in California could do this. But the plants were closed, and the dams are dry. So governor Newsom discreetly…

Intelligence: From The Open Mind, Boosted By The Open Society

August 16, 2021

The biggest point in favor of the Open Society is that it increases intelligence. Intelligence of the individual, intelligence of society. A more intelligent society, or more intelligent individuals, will tend to survive better, in the fullness of time. This is the fundamental reason for the quick rise of intelligence in the human species (in light of what I will say later).

Intelligence is what reads in between: in-legere. Thus intelligence offers more choices, than just those lines one sees initially. Intelligence provides with more choices, using imagination to create them. The more things one can read, those many things which are provided by the Open Society and the Open Mind, the more one can read in-between, thus the more intelligent one is.

And among those newly available choices, thanks to intelligence, are some choice which are superior ones. Why, how, are they superior? By enabling us, living critters, to do more with less wasted energy… with less work.

There is a fundamental biological advantage to intelligence. However, not always, it depends upon the ecology the species reside in: consider the “perfect” species, in their local minimum energy niche, from mussels to sharks to mushrooms and octopuses… They did not change, because any change would have left the critters doing less, while requiring more energy.

In the case of humans, the niche was already maximal. Indeed humans engage in more behaviors than any other species… thanks to bipedalism in conjunction with using arms for many behaviors, from tool making, weapons, etc… So humans are capable from climbing cliffs to swimming next to the seashore to running in the desert at noon, when no other animal can move (sweating and running were part of the expanding human niche)… And humans could do everything in between: humans are all over the place, their ecological niche is maximal (right, humans could not fly, but, differently from birds, humans could invent, make and use all sorts of tools, and to the point that tool and weapon usage became co-evolutionary with humanity in the last three million years; the tool inventing niche is much more power endowing than just flying around).

The capability, of bipedalism and arms used for a weapon platform, made it so that there was no human minimum energy ecological niche, humanity being the intrinsically open species, a natural free market, wild jungle competitor

Evolution is an intelligence, and a creative one, it created us, and we, in turn, part of it, now help create her… For good and evil…

Patrice Ayme

Hawaiian Crow, extinct in the wild, using a tool. Hawaiian and New Caledonia crows have large mobile eyes and straight bills to use tools. Interestingly other crows have not developed this ability. Why? Related to what I said above, because of the available niches. The absence of predators in Hawaii and New Caledonia enabled crows there to evolve out of standard avian niches, and spend energy in other niches than just flying away as the first threat… and thus learn to use tools.. In the case of humans, bipedalism for at least three million years enabled humans to use tools and especially weapons: bipedalism created a large ecological niche, from the weapon capability. A simple stick in the eye is disagreeable enough a perspective to lead lionesses and hyenas to teach the young to avoid hominids. By the way, 109 Hawaiian crows survive in zoos. The fact that they are in zoos, while introduced corvids are thriving in Hawaii shows that tool usage can diminish survivability. So much for the hateful little pseudo-ecologists who hate zoos…

US “Democrats” Destroyed Afghanistan; New York Times Part Of Plot Since 1979!

August 15, 2021

US President Carter, a so-called “Democrat”, attacked Afghanistan on July 3, 1979. The New York Times does not want its readership to know this, thus the NYT censored a comment of mine saying just that. This is a crucial piece of information: Carter did not just attack a country, Carter destroyed secularism in Afghanistan, and Carter also destroyed the Republic of Afghanistan. With that crucial piece of information: then Biden’s work, destroying Afghanistan some more, can be viewed as a continuation, a DEEP POLICY of the US “Democratic” Party. Here is the censored comment:

The US intervention in Afghanistan was launched July 3, 1979, by President Carter from advice of his National Security adviser, Zbigniew Brzezinski.

Mr. Brzezinski said that the idea was to use Muslim Fundamentalists to destabilize the Afghan secular republic and force a Soviet intervention. The effect worked as anticipated, and then went further: Muslim Fundamentalists, worldwide, observed that they could get support from US strategists, and, given enough will and violence, could seize power, worldwide.

When the US intervened in 2001, it should have required just one thing: a return to the status quo ante… which was a SECULAR, decentralized republic. Instead the US established in Afghanistan an “Islamic” “Republic”, highly centralized.

“Islamic” is close to “Islamist”, conceptually, depriving the anti-Islamists from any moral ground. Centralization enabled corruption and the tyranny of Kabul, depriving the local tribal leaders of power, including military power, to resist the Taliban. Centralization also created a centralized army which depended huge mechanical power to exist. Air power left with the US army and US private contractors who made heavy US machinery function, from helicopters to armored personnel carriers.

So what is the interest of the present ignoble defeat? More war and destabilization. A war in which Russia, Iran and China will have to engage. Thus, this is very different from Vietnam. This is much worse. It was called “The Great Game”… between the UK and Russia. Now the “Great Game” will involve all of the world’s greatest nations.

The article was  “Taliban Sweep in Afghanistan Follows Years of U.S. Miscalculations
An Afghan military that did not believe in itself and a U.S. effort that Mr. Biden, and most Americans, no longer believed in brought an ignoble end to America’s longest war.

The article was by David E. Sanger and Helene Cooper. Sanger is the chief Washington correspondent for The New York Times. A 1982 graduate of Harvard College, Sanger has been writing for the Times for 30 years covering foreign policy, globalization, nuclear proliferation, and the presidency.

Sanger has been a member of two teams that won the Pulitzer Prize, and has been awarded numerous honors for national security and foreign policy coverage. He is the author of three books: Confront and Conceal: Obama’s Secret Wars and Surprising Use of American Power[1] (Crown, June 2012); The Inheritance: The World Obama Confronts and the Challenges to American Power[2] (Harmony, 2009), which was a best-seller; and The Perfect Weapon: War, Sabotage, and Fear in the Cyber Age (Crown, 2018).

One can see that Sanger is an established member of the war mongering, Islam manipulating clique in Washington. His greedy mind, thirsty for the White House, publications and Pulitzer Pluto prizes, sees clearly how dangerous it is if the readership of the New York Times becomes aware that it has been had for 43 years, killing a few million Afghans on the way. This sort of censorship makes the New York Times part of a holocaust which, although a bit more subtle than those conducted by the Nazis, is perhaps even more dangerous, because, not only it kills millions, but it threatens billions, as war brings wars, and also keeps under delusion of innocence most of the US population, while sneakily conducting mass murdering regressive policies in its name.

Individuals such as Sanger are respected. However, should one respect deliberate propagandists who help to kill millions? At least one such propagandist, Rosenberg, was condemned to death, and hanged (slowly) at Nuremberg. Why should not Mr. Sanger be condemned to the same fate? Oh, no tribunal yet? Why not? Because the USA never did anything wrong in Afghanistan? Just got attacked out of the blue? How come this delusion?

Because US citizens have been deluded into the lying feeling and erroneous knowledge data point that Afghanistan attacked them in 2001… whereas it is the USA which attacked Afghanistan in 1979 (and actually before that, using Pakistani secret services, and the Pakistani ISI as proxies…). Thank Mr. Sanger and his ilk, and the institution of the New York Times for that.

Biden says he loves women. It is a lie. The Taliban hates women in any role, but baby making machines… Yes, that was a link to the New York Times, supposedly the newspaper of record in the USA.

Now some will feel, and not dare to say: “Oh, Afghans are savages, let them be!” It is not that simple: the Taliban army attacking on May 1, 2021, weeks after Biden announced the US would run out of Afghanistan, like scared rabbits, no matter what, was no more than 75,000… A fraction of the 300,000 underpaid and unsupported Afghan army of 300,000. The capture of an entire civilization by a small but determined horde of gangsters has happened many times in history, the best example being the fall of the Roman State in the Fifth Century in Occident. This is generally rendered possible by an entrenched, manipulative plutocracy which sees the small army of invaders as an help to its own control. In the case of Rome, Roman plutocracy made deals with the invading Germans (or even Huns!) Biden and company made a deal with the Taliban. Explicit or not. And the interest is to renew Muslim Fundamentalist control, which has proven extremely profitable to the US plutocratic elite over the last century, and counting….

US censorship is not all about the New York Times, of course. Just today the monopoly Google made it hard to find in searches my own 1979 US ATTACK AGAINST AFGHANISTAN Secretly Ordered

P/S: to quote the Wall Street Journal: “The scenes of triumphant Taliban fighters conquering city after city, parading their Humvees, artillery pieces and U.S.-made drones, have unnerved many of America’s allies. In an unusual criticism of America’s rush out of Afghanistan., U.K. Defense Secretary Ben Wallace described the Doha agreement in a Sky News interview as “a rotten deal” that “effectively told a Taliban that wasn’t winning that they were winning.”

Once Biden told the Taliban it was winning, and acted as if it was won, the Afghan army and population were submitted to the will of the US, and the will of the Taliban. So they surrendered, trying to save their lives.
