Obama Leaks

I say: ‘Oh, they are world class crooks promoting global plutocracy,’ they retort;’You are supporting Trump!’ What logic is that? Cretinism? After years of miseducation, full-blown cretins are trying to think and all they can do, is insult people. One cannot think well about complicated issues, when one has not trained.

Wikileaks revealed that Obama’s first cabinet was fully chosen, a month before his first election, by Citigroup. Meanwhile, idiots like your truly were working hard to get Obama elected. I guess, it’s supposed to be funny.

By Now, This Is Old, And Rotten, But still Worth Sniffing, Just For The Bad Smell

“The most important revelation in the WikiLeaks dump of John Podesta’s emails has nothing to do with Hillary Clinton. The messages go all the way back to 2008, when Podesta served as co-chair of President-elect Barack Obama’s transition team. And a month before the election, the key staffing for that future administration was almost entirely in place, revealing that some of the most crucial decisions an administration can make occur well before a vote has been cast.

Michael Froman, who is now U.S. trade representative but at the time was an executive at Citigroup, wrote an email to Podesta on October 6, 2008, with the subject “Lists.” Froman used a Citigroup email address. He attached three documents: a list of women for top administration jobs, a list of non-white candidates, and a sample outline of 31 cabinet-level positions and who would fill them. “The lists will continue to grow,” Froman wrote to Podesta, “but these are the names to date that seem to be coming up as recommended by various sources for senior level jobs.”

The cabinet list ended up being almost entirely on the money. It correctly identified Eric Holder for the Justice Department, Janet Napolitano for Homeland Security, Robert Gates for Defense, Rahm Emanuel for chief of staff, Peter Orszag for the Office of Management and Budget, Arne Duncan for Education, Eric Shinseki for Veterans Affairs, Kathleen Sebelius for Health and Human Services, Melody Barnes for the Domestic Policy Council, and more. For the Treasury, three possibilities were on the list: Robert Rubin, Larry Summers, and Timothy Geithner.

This was October 6. The election was November 4. And yet Froman, an executive at Citigroup, which would ultimately become the recipient of the largest bailout from the federal government during the financial crisis, had mapped out virtually the entire Obama cabinet, a month before votes were counted. And according to the Froman/Podesta emails, lists were floating around even before that.”

Meanwhile, Sanders is screaming that Bannon is a racist, Trump should fire him. Quotes? I made an Internet search, and came up empty. OK, I found some amusing quotes of the type ‘does feminism cause cancer’? (OK, not even that, I made it up. Feminism does cause cancer, sorry about making a joke of it…)

When the pseudo-left stops fooling around, we can hope to progress, but not before that.

Ah, and why does feminism cause cancer? I will leave it as a cliffhanger (but make no mistake, there is a state of the art of science analysis lurking in the dark behind this, and well supported in all sorts of ways…)

Related question : if this makes you an idiot, what does it make the frothing-at-the-mouth US Right wing? IE, the one that has been feeding its entertainment/political echo chamber with “Obama is a Marxist, Obama is anti-American, Obama is a far-leftist, etc, etc,…” type of red meat?

Knowing that the people in charge of producing said BS were quite aware all the while of O being a very typical, unremarkable (except in his packaging) US establishment political product (and and front for the usual hidden intelligence cum big business private interests)?
And yet, the base was purposefully kept in a divisive, paranoid, agitated state (on the “bright” side, O is going to laugh all the way to the bank after he’s gone, while the restless peons still will be stuck in their hate wankfest bubble, so, there’s that, I guess).

What does that make of US politics as a whole? Lies vs lies?
“When the pseudo-right stops fooling around, we can hope to progress, but not before that”, maybe?

Hi Kevin! Well, yes, some of the controversies about Barack Obama were obviously ARTIFICIAL. We were told, for years that there was racism against Obama, that was the whole problem. However, Obama’s approval rating are the highest for a departing second term president: people like him, personally. At the same time, they detest his policies. The latter point took a while: people were initially were well disposed to Obamacare (against which I was extremely hostile, from the get go, although it has a couple of positices Trump will retain). Obamacare had (nearly) no cost control (contrarily to what those masquerading as lefties pretended), so here we are with premium augmenting 25% overnight (that’s part of what gave the election to Trump, BTW… despite Clinton down in the gutter campaign, whose baseness surprised even Trump)

Trump is nationalist, but also pseudo right. I shall resist the temptation of calling him socialist… 😉

In any case, for real progressives, it’s a breath of fresh air. The wild accusations of racism are borderline hilarious: some of those proferring them (like Demon Sen. Harry Reid) were great friends with KK members like Sen Byrd, a “Keagle”, and chief of the Dem. Senate forever, including during Obama supermajority…)

I just have to disagree here : controversies about O are all about race (or at the very least, “race”, in the fucking toxic US context); that is true IMHO not only for his appeal in the “left” – his skin colour being, it not the totality, at least the core of his marketability -, but also of the inane, insane reaction he provoked from a good chunk of the “right”.
Not that I do not agree with you on your assessment of his personality and political (historical?) role.
Still, to put it bluntly, hasn’t he been a nigger, he wouldn’t have provoked such an epidermic, convulsive, knee-jerk reaction.
True, a white dem president would have been attacked as effectively, just from different angles, no doubt, but, I’m sorry, his main (sole) selling point after the consecutive disasters of the W administrations, was him being a pleasant-looking darkie with a funny ay-rab name, so the “left” could feel good about itself and superior and cleansed.
And to the “right” and its set attitude re. “races”, this was just intolerable, period (and, yeah, I know about the late R. Byrd, having spent about 10 years merrily frolicking in the US right-wingnut internet, I’m more than aware of their talking points and diversionary tactics, not to mention their message discipline and willingness to follow marching orders, an impressive herd mentality that I can only attribute to the broader US deeply-ingrained conformism and anti-intellectualism).

Of course, all this is kabuki, engineered BS to keep the base agitated and to fuel the identity-based, tribal politics engine that is the US “single-party, two wings” system.
O is laughing all the way to the bank, as he should, having been a diligent employee of the Establishment. A model American, really, no matter what the rightwing echo chambers shouted.

        Again, qu’ils crèvent.

I forgot to say the obvious: these artificial controversies about skin color and the like prevented to adress the real problems… And that was the whole idea. If one is obsessive about other people been obsessed by Obama light brown color, one will not speak, let alone think, about “Quantitative Easing”. Reciprocally, is one does think about QE, as I did, freinds of QE can then accuse me to be a racist, and ban me from the New York Times (as happened)… Thus protecting the entire population, worldwide, to think about QE…
