The Essence of the Fall Of Rome: Frigidus. And Its Redemption, Vouillé. Lessons.

September 10, 2023

The Fall of the Roman Empire occured over a very short period. It was nothing mysterious, but purely military. In August 378 CE the Goths defeated and killed the Roman emperor Valens and his Oriental Roman Field army. Now without an army, the Romans wisely invited the Goths to a feast in Constantinople (hoping for indigestion, as happened).

In September 394 CE, 16 years later, the Roman trashcan emperor Theodosius I, leading an army of GOTHS (!) and now playing second fiddle to the Goths, crushed, with a combination of luck and corruption, the Occidental Roman Field army, led by anti-Catholic Roman chief of staff Arbogast, one of several Franks who led Roman armies in the Late empire.

So in 16 years both the Oriental and Occidental Roman armies which could be put in the field of battle, had been destroyed… By the same Goths! Left without an army, the Roman empire was open to the winds, a half-Vandal, Stilicho, became Regent… Silicho was executed a few years later, and the Visigoth king, Alaric I, who won over the Romans and franks of Arbogast at Frigidus, sieged and seized Rome (410 CE)… Eight centuries after the Gallic adventurer Brennus, leader of the Senones (the Gauls from the Seine river basin) succeed to do so. But Brennus was promptly dispatched by the counterattacking Roman dictator Camille… Whereas the Goths and their fellow Germans were here to stay…

The Late Roman empire was a total plutocracy (and lethal theocracy!) which made deals with the Goths and other vandals, to share power, rather than crushing the Goths (which it couldn’t do, as the commanding Roman military plutocracy refused to arm the Roman People… which would have brought the political People’s Republic back, a perspective which didn’t appeal to professional Roman soldiers and the Roman nobility which was entangled with them).

This oppression of We The People with the combined forces of plutocracy and Goths (or similar invaders) terminated when Clovis, king of the Franks, imperator (top Roman general) and (later) Roman Consul, crushed the Goths in 507 CE… And killed their king… Alaric II, great grandson of Alaric I who defeated Arbogast and Rome! This destruction of the Goths by the Franks occurred more than a century after the odious alliance between Goths and Roman plutocrats.

The battle of Vouillé in 507 CE, was a major philosophical turning point. Frankish King Clovis not only defeated Alaric II, the King of the Visigoth, he killed him personally during the battle, succeeding where Alexander had failed (Alexander tried to personally kill the Persian emperor, but didn’t get close enough).

Vouillé was the revenge for the Battle of the Frigidus, when the Goths of Alaric I (notice the same name!), leading the Roman (!) army of the (mentally) corrupt Catholic murderous fanatic Roman emperor Theodosius I had destroyed the Occidental Roman army led by the Frankish general Arbogast, long the Roman army chief of staff and ruler of the West.

Traditional historiography focuses on Clovis’ conversion to Catholicism, and presents it as great taming of the savage Franks by bishops. Reality is the exact opposite. It’s the Franks who tamed savage Catholicism.

Indeed a closer philosophical inspection of mentalities and how they switched, reveals that actually the Catholicism of Clovis is not Christian in the sense of Christianism inaugurated by Roman emperor Constantine, and vicious pursued by his library burning successors until the terror heresy edicts of 380-381 CE.

Clovis’ Christianism makes fundamental fun of Christian sadomasochism and deliberately inverts and misunderstands Christ’s crucifixion as a pure military problem caused by having vicious people in command of a weak Roman army.

For the next five centuries, Catholicism in Francia was made into a force of progress and literacy… in contrast and opposition with the obscurantism, fanaticism and viciousness of the Pope in Rome and the Patriarch in Constantinople. Detailed inspection of what happened (universal education, outlawing of slavery, rollback of Islam) exhibits the clean break from the Roman empire of Augustus and his successors. Clovis launches a better and much improved Franco-Roman civilization… now enshrined in the United Nations charter…

Clovis didn’t convert to Catholicism as much as Catholicism was converted by Clovis into a form compatible with the renewed progress of civilization… which Roman pluto-theo-fascism had seriously betrayed… Not to say all was bad in the Late Roman empire; for example the insistence of the long ruling Augusta Galla Placidia (who died in 450 CE) that the law applied to all equally, the isonomia invented by some Greek democracies a millennium earlier, marked the minds, and would be re-emphasized by Saint Louis eight centuries later…

The Franks in particular broke the Inquisition set-up by Theodosius I… It would resurface immediately after the successful crushing of the Tenth Century (!) Jacqueries by the newly surfacing post Carolingian plutocracy… In 1026 CE exactly…

War works best when conducted by philosophical superiority…

The version of history above is a reinterpretation of known facts. That reinterpretation was not made before, because no one wanted to accuse Catholicism of savagery, but who is more savage than those who burn people alive, just because they made a choice (that’s what heresy means, an invention of Theodosius I).

Catholicism and its protestant, “reform” progeny were actually in charge of keeping We The People enslaved… Thus making Catholicism the pillar on which plutocracy has been standing for a millennium… as it was in the Late Roman empire. Nobody should suggest that the plutocratic ideology imposed on the people is savage and atrocious….

That Catholicism is still savage and atrocious was demonstrated recently by the superficially benevolent Pope, who not only approves of Putin where it matters, but praised the worst historical autocrats of the Kremlin such as Peter the Great (a giant who tortured his son to death among other exploits) and Catherine the Great, killer of her own husband and conqueror of Crimea… (Zelensky just named a Muslim Tatar from temporarily occupied Crimea his defense minister… An answer not just to the Pope, and his Putin, but also to Catherine…)

Clovis buried fanatical Catholicism. Zombie-like it was resurrected five centuries later, in its full splendid horror (in 1026 CE, with a renewal of burning people alive for heresy…) The French Revolution which finally worked, that of 1789, reburied Catholicism with honors, all the way to 1905 CE. Together with Protestantism and Judaism… but omitted Islam, in a ridiculous oversight (caused by an earlier military surrender treaty with Abdelkader…)

Considering the eternal return of the same plutocracy… We may want to pay attention when plutocrat Elon Musk decides to take fellow plutocrat Putin’s threats seriously, or so he says, and foil Ukrainian counterattacks in Crimea, that is, on Ukrainian territory… By turning off the Internet… [1]

History generally goes wrong when plutocrats and their military allies get too much power…

Roman army commander and elected Frankish king Clovis crushes the Goths at Vouillé, as seen in 1336 CE….

[1] When plutocrats decide if there will be war or peace, or think they are abilitated to wage war, or peace… civilization is in big trouble. Musk decided Crimea was not in Ukraine, which puts him somewhere to the right of the genocidal Kremlin Czar Catherine, who was very proud of conquering Crimea, precisely because it was in Ukraine!
